Did you get it? What's your impressions of it so far? The only thing that concerns me about it is the FOV, but the ability to connect it to a PC and then just take it on the go is tempting me. I was looking to upgrade my PC, and with Alyx and a few other big games around the corner, it's the right time for it.
Yes it arrived Friday and it's been a fantastic purchase. My previous VR experience was with the PSVR which I really enjoyed, but the tracking and wires really bothered me.
The freedom of being truly wireless is something else entirely, we bought Super Hot and spent most of the weekend on it (Chromecasted to the TV). For me it was a game changing experience. Being a mobile chipset there's a graphical hit for sure but it's not really about that and the games do look really good considering. It's a much more social experience too which is great, this is going to be the main attraction over the various Christmas commitments!
The FOV is fine for me, I actually felt it was better than the PSVR but this link suggests otherwise:
https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/9hk02b/angular_resolution_and_fov_of_various_vr_headsets/, either way it wasn't an issue. Controller tracking is superb and should be no different to the Oculus Rift S.
Was able to use the Oculus Link BETA with a basic Amazon cable and it works great. I can't compare it to the Rift S but from what I've read most people say the quality is the same as the original Oculus, I.e. it's a bit softer than the Rift S. Someone's done a comparison of the Oculus Link and Virtual Desktop here, note it's captured on the Quest itself so the FPS is capped and there's some compression on the video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8MKq995LG8 I haven't used Virtual Desktop yet (this enables Wireless VR over 5GHz) but you can see there's headroom for improvement. Either way I'm very happy with the Link so far. John Carmack thinks he'll be able to increase the fidelity a lot more too:

As for the negatives. The battery could do with being larger I guess (2.5 hours) but the main issue I have with the headset is the comfort. Because of the strap design and front weight it needs to be strapped on quite hard and can end up making your cheeks or forehead hurt. Depends on your head shape somewhat but the PSVR halo design is much better. You can kill two birds with one stone for this though by getting this:
https://www.studioformcreative.com/product-page/quest-pro-enthusiast-kitThe top band will shift weight distribution to the top of your head and you can stick a 10,000 MAh battery in the back counter weight slot to really relieve the pressure. I got this, it's 242g which is the sweet spot and will last 7 hours:
