Topic: Pictures on Hard Drive

hoping someone can help me out here...

an old laptop of mine won't start up so I took the hard drive out and put it in a caddy and now can access the files but I can't find my pictures which was the whole reason for it.  Surely they should be on there somewhere?  I've attached a screenshot of what i can see on the drive

Usually stuff like that is under: user -> "whatever you have called the pc" -> my files -> pictures

Or summit like that...

cheers mate but that path isn't showing when i click on users...just a couple of empty folders

update.... i think I've cracked it by giving my new PC ownership permissions to view the files under Users.  it's currently changing ownership on loads of files so i think it's working.  thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

if anyone else does have this issue, here's the procedure for taking ownership

Right-click the folder, select Properties > Security Tab > Advanced at the bottom > Owner Tab > Edit > Highlight your username and put a tick in ‘Replace owner on subcontainers…’ and Apply > OK. You will only have the ‘Replace owner on subcontainers…’ box for folders not files. Click Yes when you receive the Security pop-up window then click OK to the Close/Reopen message.

Now go back to the Properties > Security Tab. Click Edit > Add. Type in your User Account Name in the box under Enter the objects name to select. Click on Check Names > OK. Click on your User Account Name to highlight it. Check the box for Full Control > Apply and OK etc.
