The star wars revisited facebook page has details.  You can get a version to burn to dvd, including extras, like caption commentary on the small details that have been changed.  You can also just download it via a torrent as a video file, but that's without extras.

I don't normally watch CinemaWins because for me it's too easy to praise a movie.  But the segment at the end of this that addresses some of the criticisms of Rogue One is very interesting.  Seems they took issue with some of what Plinkett said, as I did myself.

Never gonna happen, sadly. George Lucas would've made it part of the contract he signed with Disney, to make sure the original one never sees the light of day again.

Vanity Fair article on The Last Jedi with some photos from the set:

I love this image.  Carrie looks so very old, far older than her years, but being with Mark and the connection of the two characters elevates this image to timeless.  There's so much unspoken love there, between the characters and the actors.

My Hildebrandt poster. My brother told me it was at the original Leicester Square screening but there's nothing on it to prove that.  Even so it might be worth a few quid to the right person.

I find him very engaging to listen too. I've seen videos of him speaking at the Oxford Union or some other such place also.

If it's in good nick mate it could well be - does it have a copyright logo and year near the bottom? and is it linen and not paper? (apparently, back in the day a few were printed on linen)

Great thing to have and keep though :)

The film itself would do well to have a similarly heavy, post-rockish reflective tone for this mature Luke's return from self-imposed exile. I hope Hamill doesn't treat the role too campy, like with a bit of an ironic deliberate-ham distance - it deserves to be very weighty, an internal drama to take seriously.

There are loads who'll say "it's only Star Wars, it's just a family-friendly space opera adventure", but I think whatever the source material, when a performer (or entire film crew) really commits to it and takes it seriously, un-self-consciously, it can only help. There are so many now-classic flicks where that much has proven true; when they can't have known it was ever going to become so important to so many people, but they gave it their all anyway, and it turned out to be the best possible approach, giving the thing enduring substance.

Completely agree. I think the director was very happy with Hamill (I read somewhere he thought his performance in TLJ was 'oscar-worthy' - though his opinion may not entirely be unbiased / or just promoting the film etc ;))

So I just stumbled across the Reylo theory for the first time. That possibility had not even crossed my mind once. Could be interesting.

Especially if Kylo is the last  Skywalker. I doubt they would have the Skywalker line end with him dying as the villain.

It seems baffling to me that you can shoot 80% of the film, and only at that stage realise that the working situation is impossible.

I have massive fears for this now. The cast looked meh for the most part aside from Lando, it was a story that didnt need telling and basically Lord and Miller's involvement was the one thing that had me interested, seeing as everything they'd done had been gold. Now, it'll head into a massive scramble as they put in a new director, that will have to go over everything they shot, have to re-edit and reshoot massive segments most likely, and depending on how much the studio has an issue with it, it could end up being an entirely new film.

I'd be astonished if its release doesnt get moved.

I just think its bonkers. You hire two directors known for a specific tone and style of writing and humour, and 6 months into shooting the film you are shocked that said directors are trying to implement that style? Why hire people who are known for a more improvisational style, when you want someone who will stick to script?

Yes, all very strange...

With 3 weeks of shooting to go (of a 6 month shoot) it seems that it's likely some of the editing may have started to take place - it could be that this is the point where their 'creative differences' came to the fore... (just my two-penneth/guess)

As in other large films there's a short window written into the actors contracts for re-shoots - it'll be interesting to see how that goes - and how long those re-shoots will be. We know there is a ton of footage not used (and adapted) for Rogue One as the actual story changed with the style of shooting - but they didn't lose the directors... and only just managed to pull it off...

Ron Howard is rumoured to be in talks to take over - anyone taking over right now would likely want some sort of guarantee over how the film would finally look - and need to see what has been shot so far - take in the script - and find out exactly what Kennedy & Lucasbods are looking for...

Just on this point, anyone Disney bring in now are doing exactly what the fuck they want, and not a damn frame more. Kasdan wants his script directed to the page, and any director coming in will be on strict instructions to go along. No director is coming in with any sort of ideas about what the film will look like at this point.

Maybe so mate, though it'll be LucasFilm bringing in who they want - not Disney. And if Lucasfilm go for an experienced or 'big-name' director he'll (or she) likely be wanting some control on what the film will look like (stylistically and thematically) - and will want to see what has already been filmed and script before taking it on.

So far they've been filming multiple takes and angles - and that won't likely change given the need to wrap this up quickly and have as many options as possible for the editing and cutting process (and be ready for the re-shoot dates). It may 'stick to the script' from now on in but they as they're looking for a director to come in - instead of going with the asst director(s) to finish up - it'd indicate that they need a Kershner (with some vision) - rather than a Marquand (do as the boss tells you) ;)

(^ just my two-penneth though :))

Exercise is to the body what reading is to the mind.

"If I hadn't doped, I would never have won". "Doping improves your performance between 5 and 7 per cent, and maybe 10 to 12 per cent when you are in a peak shape.

"Doping isn't addictive but it's an instrument of power: whoever wins attracts the money; for themselves, the team and the sponsors"

After Episode 8 - yet before Episode 9 ;)

Can you imagine the fume? It'd even knock Everton off top spot and deny them their annual Fume Cup win ;D
