Slot does seem a really good coach, excellent football, uses young players, used to competing against bigger budgets, won a title etc. Also had a cracking chance of winning the league with AZ when their covid season got abandoned.

Edwards didn't buy from there though so dunno if he'll appoint from there, it's difficult to know how it'd translate.
I think he's arguably got a better record than Amorim and I'm not so sure why he's not seen as highly. It's not like the Portuguese league is producing top coaches regularly or particularly competitive outside about 3/4 teams.

No Foden, Haaland or Alvarez in training apparently. We'll see.

I'm not suggesting anything, but I think it's another bad development for Forest to employ a former referee. The idea is clearly to put at least indirect pressure on PGMOL. Otherwise why employ him?

The odd thing is it's not yet working. They screamed and shouted at the injustice done to them in the Liverpool game. That produced no results. Then Clattenberg expressed concerns about Attwell to Webb on the eve of the Everton match and that didn't work either.

The experiment is worth watching closely though. If Forest are able to get refs and linesmen changed through Clattenberg's interventions then very soon every club will employ a 'Clattenberg'.

Clattenberg is clearly getting special access to Webb and Pgmol though. They had a training ground meeting at which Clattenberg claims he was granted permission to act as a conduit between Forest and referees. They were pictured sitting next to each other at a Premier League game.

Now we know that Clattenberg phoned Webb about Atwell. That should not be happening. As for influencing officials it doesn't happen overnight. Look at Ferguson it took him years of complaining about decisions before it started impacting officials.

Reading all these names everyone is grabbing its absolutely clear. Its not that Klopp is leaving..its he could not have picked a worse time for Liverpool to seek a new manager. There are no clear quality candidates out there. Zero....all degrees of maybes.

I actually think the pool of even the employed managers is poor. The stock of some half decent managers from just a few years ago is worse. Tuchel, Naglesmann or Poch,  would have been somewhat more appealing a few years ago. Even Simeone isn't what he once was. Look at Allegri, Conte or Mourinho. Football is moving on but weirdly the next generation of managers doesn't seem to have stepped up yet.

Fabrizio: 🚨🇵🇹 Rúben Amorim update. Understand after initial round of talks, it’s highly unlikely to see Amorim as new West Ham manager.

Discussions not expected to advance after meeting in London.

Talks on stand-by with Liverpool since last week.

❗️ Amorim keeps his options open.

And so the public courtship commences. Funny how a bunch of stories about some of our targets have popped up in the space of a couple of hours. I'm sure the agents involved are not at all messaging the likes of Romano and the Portuguese fella to push their agenda through. Emery suddenly being viewed as the Villa Fergie puts the minds of the fan base at ease, West Ham fans can look forward to a continuation of the Age of the Moyesiah, and Amorim has the door left slightly ajar. If those numbers from the Portuguese fella are true, read unlikely as meaning unlikely on those terms. For me at least it all seems to be adding up now, which of course means it'll be entirely incorrect.

❗️Exclusive. Rúben Amorim's side asked
@LFC
 a three years contract with a salary of £10 million net per year plus a signing fee. Liverpool offered less than that. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

❌ Amorim won't change
@SportingCP
 for
@WestHam
 .

Haha hope that's not true or Rubin is a fucking comedian. That's more than Pep! (Reportedly...).

Wait so in a really important part of the season, gets on a plane with his entourage, flys to London to meet West Ham, finds the offer no good and flys all the way home? Has he not heard of a phone?

It's all for the show.
