1 Female sports star (individual or sport)
2 wildcards

These were the rules I put together awhile ago:

- We each pick 8 greatest ever sports people from 8 different sports (one must be female).

- Example sports: Football, Boxing, Tennis, Rugby, Cricket, Snooker, F1, Darts, Swimming, Track & Field*, Gymnastics, Rowing etc.

*To avoid an overload from Track & Field events, these will be divided into two categories and you may have one of each:

1. Track events such as 100m-10000m, Marathons, Hurdles, Relays etc.
2. Field events such as High Jump, Long Jump, Pole Vault, Shotput, Discus etc.

- WWE does not count.

- Sports persons will be judged on whatever the fuck people want. It needn't be purely on medal haul, but also impact on their sport, legendary matches/goals/races etc, longevity, and even personality. But if they're shit, we're all going to know it.

I'm quite busy right now, so I appreciate someone else running the draft. But personally I wouldn't enforce a footballer pick. We've drafted every footballer known to man. I'd say it's pretty nice to have a draft which allows some other sports legends to see their names go up in lights across RAWK.

The only team sports I follow are football and cricket. I don't follow any "mainstream" individual sports, so I would struggle with this draft. Most of my picks would be rock climbers or mountaineers.

I think maybe people are just fed up with drafts. Even in the main draft thread 'Draft Towers' not many seemed too interested. Even in the last draft when Titi Camara won, nobody congratulated him or posted in the thread.

I think this was a really strong idea, but sadly once momentum is lost that's it. While you were on your sabbatical, we managed to kill drafting by doing way too many of them and it's never been the same since. I'm still up for running more drafts if the right idea comes along though. This one might need relaunching in a few months time.

Yeah, I kinda sensed that when I came back. I kinda sensed that we had done too many too soon even before I went on that sabbatical.

Yeah, we were already creaking back then, but we pushed on regardless. The truth is there are only so many times you can feign surprise when Redondo goes in round 1. We all just ran out of things to say in the discussion threads. The film and music drafts were great though. Both completely fresh ideas with lots of discussion to be had. I think we pushed on too far with the Cabinet draft though and that's what killed this one.

I'd run another comic book draft if there was enough interest. We only ever did one of those 2 years ago. The female music draft in the new year should be great too.

World Cup Sheep draft in the summer is probably the only footy draft we'll be seeing anytime soon.
