What's going on?
« on: January 9, 2008, 04:49:58 pm »
Parry agreed a fee at the weekend, the player has agreed personal terms and passed a medical but the deal hasn't gone through as it awaiting Hicks n Gillet's approval?

I know Rafa has complained in the past about how slow we are to close deals and that the American's don't understand the market, but this is surreal!

A bit of patience ;)
He wasn't perfect, he made mistakes. But he was genuine. He had the best interests of the club at heart, and gave us a plethora of successful teams that we should have been thankful for.

All parties have to be there to sign the contract, don't they?

If Parry's in NYC, he can't sign it.

Really? I thought it was precipitating from an exterior position toward an interior one...

No G+H need to approve the phone bill before Parry can fax the contract over for approval.

Sounds to me like the media trying to stir things up again. By suggesting that the owners arent backing rafa.

Martin Skrtel, who should be signed sometime this week, hopefully before boro so that he can play in that game.

Why would we negotiate a deal for a 6.5m player before the club's owners give their approval? It'd be a pretty big fuck up if we messed this one up

He did train today with the full squad, however his agent has returned to Moscow this afternoon after spending a couple of days over here with the player, don't know if the player has gone back or what.

But i don't think anyone knows about this transfer.

Martin Skrtel is a 23 (?) year old CB who we're on the brink of signing, he passed a medical yesterday and the deal is waiting to be finalized.

Boro = Middlesborough

Liverpool target Martin Skrtel is hoping that his dream move from Zenit St Petersburg is completed as soon as possible.

Rafael Benitez is believed to have agreed a fee for the Slovakian and is set to make him the most expensive defender in the club's history.

The Reds have been tracking the player for three years now and sent representatives to watch him play for Slovakia against Czech Republic in a Euro 2008 qualifier and for Zenit against Everton in the Uefa Cup.

After impressing in those two games, Skrtel is now anxious for the move to be completed and admits to being nervous about the prospect of joining one of Europe's top sides.

Anxious wait

"The last two weeks I have been in constant contact with my agent Karol Csonto," he told Plus.

"I hope everything will turn out well in the end, the dream will come true, and I will become a player for a famous club.

"It is most important that everything works out well, and I cannot wait to put pen-to-paper.

New era

"I have realised that in all likelihood a new era of my life is beginning.

"I struggled to get any sleep on Saturday night, and I normally have no problems sleeping.

"I have been pondering what will be waiting for me there and how I will get used to the conditions."

Hopefully the transfer will go through as soon as possible :)

It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.

The fact that the Transfer Window is only a month long discriminates against us. They should appreciate the fact that it takes us at least three months to find our arse with both hands conduct the necessary negotiations

Hang on a minute. Let's not be buying everything the papers say.

I'm certainly not pro Americans but I am fair. Rafa has asked for a centre back and Mascherano and it seems like we're going to break our transfer record for a defender within 10 days of the window opening.

As for the deal having to be sanctioned or contracts signed, that's bullshit unless the terms have changed a little. This lad will be signed this week. We can fax an authority from America for anyone to sign the contract on our behalf (lawyers etc) if they don't already have it.
