Today was going a bit too well, had to end sometime.

Sick, had a lot riding on that  :-\
Having Welbeck try and mark Pirlo is ridiculous. It's like trying to get a golden retriever to stop a tennis ball machine.Because one is a machine designed for a very specific purpose that it is peerless at, and the other is a fucking dog.

Just glad I covered it with the 2nd and 3rd placers there. 4-fold ruined but that's the joys of gambling.

collective sigh all over Britain and Ireland, cant believe it
if you wanna be the best you gotta beat the best

I'll make two predictions of this...Carroll won't score 3 PL goals total for the rest of the year and we won't score 5 against any team all year.  We might still get CL football without either happening.

The horse was literally going too well at the last, had so much left and just treated the hurdle with contempt and at that speed you can't do that. Glad the horse and jockey are OK.

Yikes. I would have thought Glen's Melody winning would have offset some gains, clear second best horse in the race and a few savers would have been on that. Plus the first 3 would have cost them more than £7.4 million I would have thought. But they've clawed a hell of a lot back.

Backed it purely on the strength of Jamie Codd. Cracking amateur

Didn't see the race Bry but nice to know he had a great ride to backup the selection.

If you like stats, 9 of the last 10 winners finished either 1st or 2nd in the previous race.

Killala Quay came 4th to Faugheen last year at Cheltenham.  Decent hurdles form. Still to win a chase, but interesting.

I've gone with Golden Hoof though. Has apparently wanted good ground for ages, but still been running well on less than ideal ground.

Also, Dromnea, purely because the Irish are bossing it at the moment.

Reverse forecast on the two too. Same with Golden Hoof and Bold Henry.

Thomas Crapper loves Cheltenham.
Justice for the 96.

The way Annie Power was flying she looked like she would win by the sort of margins Mine that Bird did in the Kentucky Derby and Secretariat did in the Belmont. What a sickener.

Fortunately I'd broken my accumulator after the first race, with my refusal to go near Douvan.

The shame is that most (from a small sample size) seem to have gone with a quad on the four giants and not hedged at all, which is brutal. Always wonder if a jockey is able to dismiss those sort of thoughts from his head like Ruby will have to tonight.

The conspiracy theories are starting about Annie Power, apparently.  Paid off by the bookies etc.

Complete idle speculative tosh. I could see a class 6 seller at Wolverhampton being fixed, but not a championship grade 1 race.

Plus, why not simply hold it back or pull it up, they wouldn't risk it falling if they wanted it beat, especially not at the last either.

Yeah, it's not as if Ruby done anything wrong. The horse just misjudged it, went too early and that was that. It's not like Ruby asked for a big jump and over-committed or anything like that. If it would have been pulled up going well, or Ruby fell off after a tiny mistake, I'd say maybe something dodgy. But no, I don't think there was anything suspicious about it.
