Birds of Prey will be terrible but it has Mary Elizabeth Winstead in it so I will be there on opening night. Suicide Squad 2 intrigues me. James Gunn at the helm, and a good cast. But, it also has Jai Courtney and John Cena in it too so it could be terrible.

You won't be able to see him.

Why do people hate Jai Courtney? He was unreal in Spartacus.
Maybe the group, led by your leadership, will see these drafts as PR functions and brilliant use of humor

Suicide Squad was made by David Ayer (whos bad)

Birds of Prey is being made by Cathy Yan (whos good). So, could work out alright.

The Joker rating on RT has tumbled since the high of Venice.

(Tumbled May be a slight exaggeration)

Doesn’t RT grab reviews from more than there?

Thought I'd take a look - there's a review up there by Joi Childs which puts it at 7/10 and is considered rotten. A few more just seem to say it's going to inspire shootings.

Shit like this:

Quote
It means that Joker misses the greatest irony of all – that such an all-consuming nihilism and victimization mentality is a privilege in itself, and often a typical calling card of the demographic which is often behind real-life atrocities such as mass shootings. This movie is indeed terrifying, but that’s because it’s horrifically, unintentionally insightful of how such men are viewed, both from without and within.

seems like the reviewer wanted something different and was mad that the movie didn't specifically address whatever she wanted it to.

That Birds of Prey trailer isn't doing it for me.  And why is Black Mask not wearing a mask?  I guess he'll end up with it towards the end but I'm not convinced by this movie at all.

So the 'Snyder'verse has lost their shit last night over the cast of Justice League going all 'James Gunn' and releasing synchronised #ReleaseTheSnyderCut tweets.

Obviously this is a plug for some kind of 'Snyder cut' re-release to cinemas or DVD/Bluray rather than the cast having a huge realisation that the Snyder cut is so much better than Joss Whedons version.

Marvel got away with a quick re-release to boost their box office and there is no comic book film in sight for either side so easy to surprise the market with a holiday Directors cut

Joker sequel coming with Joaquin Phoenix set to return:
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/joker-sequel-works-as-todd-phillips-eyes-more-dc-origin-movies-1256255

Can't see any point at all in a "Joker 2" but the idea that he might take on another origin story is interesting. He could totally make a Lex Luthor film that wants to be Citizen Kane to go with the Joker film that wants to be Taxi Driver. Only instead of being a genius, Lex is just some guy. And instead of being a wealthy businessman, he's just some guy. But he's bald. And he is really upset about it. Or something. Any old shit, really. Woooo.

Yep that's the first thing I thought of too.  Strong trailer, seems like WW is the only character DC can get consistently right.

Funnily enough, if you take Snyder out of full control of a DC film and you tend to get a better film.

I actually quite liked Aquaman as well (ok by Aquaman I mean Amber Heard :P).

The first one was very Snydery, his fingerprints were all over it. This one looks nothing like him though.

Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal). Couldn't tell you any more than that since I haven't really read any Wonder Woman comics. Oh and Kristen Wiig plays Cheetah who is a humanoid cat. I'm expecting Sonic the Hedgehog level CGI.

Looks like something that'll break $1 billion without breaking a sweat. I remember Maxwell Lord tricking Wonder Woman into killing someone on camera, and I think he was in charge of one of the iterations of the Justice League before going crazy and villainous?

Yeah I've watched it, I'd say it's good but unspectacular, and pretty slow. If you like your superhero stuff then I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

It's ok and kinda cool if you like a bit of legit violence in your superheroing but it's written by baboons so don't expect anything like the quality of Saul.

It starts slowly but I think the overall arc is better. With that said I’m not buying Iain Glen as Bruce Wayne!

Quiet in here regarding "Birds of Prey".

Went to see it last night and quite enjoyed the ride

Felt the director went for an early Guy Ritchie type movie in that it was a comedy caper for adults and it kinda worked.  Stolen Diamonds being chased around town, Freeze frame to introduce characters with Titles splashing the screen describing who and what they were. Voice over walking you through the story etc.  Think Snatch and Lockstock.

Thought Harley's "Noo Yoik" accent was a little bit over egged but maybe that was intentional.  No biggie though.

Looks the part there does Pattinson.

There's a definite chance of Batman fatigue setting in if they don't do some interesting stuff with this iteration but that tiny sample is enough to make me hopeful they will do.

There's so many different iterations of the character there's really no excuse for the studio churning out some paint by number stuff with him.

Given the work he's been doing lately the fact that Pattinson even bothered to sign on is encouraging, he doesnt seem to be here for the mundane movie star shit.
