Wow... Have just seen this short article on a new game which basically a 3rd Person War of the Worlds game.

Though it's in the early stages, the gameplay trailer on the link below looks like it could be really fun.

Will be following that. Looks like it may turn out quite well. Bit disappointed they've not just got a license from John Christopher's estate and done the full The Tripods.
