Impressed with Glen he was all over the place I think he might enjoy this system, Suarez to Borini goal may type that a lot this season and if we can use Stevie like we did tonight we have a chance!

It's early days and not the strongest opposition, but you can already see some changes in the way we play.

What stood out for me was:

1. We moved the ball very quickly and kept the ball on the deck for most of the game.
2. We pressed hard when we lost the ball and didn't give them time to settle.
3. When under pressure we didn't panic, and we played our way out of trouble and kept possession.

All good.
I've got OCD, but I prefer to call it CDO so it's in alphabetical order.

Said it might be out of Agger's hands if he leaves. Basically as we all know, if City offer a shitload the club will take it.

Hmmmmm. I hope we dont cash in. Good win all the same
He'll win the league in the next 3 years. Quote me on that.
Quote me on this, but come next season he'll be great for us. Just needs to remove the walking headless chicken next to him

Seedorf?!?!? Has he waded into this Agger debate??

Think Borini's goal shows the benefits of throwing people forward and trying to flood the box in attacks. I think we'll see a lot more of that this season, hopefully.

Fantastic performance albeit against a weak team. Very impressed though. Think 4-3-3 suits both downing and Suarez.

...........YOU CANT MAKE SOMEONE CANCEL A CONTRACT UNLESS THEY AGREE. It doesnt fucking matter, he has a contract. Do you know what a contract is? Its a binding agreement, unless he has some fucking weird clause in his contract that says if this much money is offered and the club accept you HAVE to leave....jesus christ people do you think you can just cancel your cell phone contract cause you feel like it even if the telephone company doesn't want you to leave? NO youd have to PAY IT OUT, which is retarded if your looking to MAKE MONEY from leaving.

played some lovely stuff, especially in the first half. suarez when he's in the mood, as i've said before, is the best player in the premiership. good for borini to get off the mark. downing played well first half but faded. great to have lucas back. all in all a decent night.

Please don't start this shit again we just had great performance, did you all miss pre match what Rodgers said? Gerrard is playing games putting it clear that if Agger leaves the fans will get on owners back relax he playing the game.
Liverpool manager Rafael Benítez admitted after the match that the manner of his side's victory had stunned him and he stated: "My problem is that I don't have words to express the things that I feel at this moment"

Why would the owners want to cash in? If we did surely we would get the money to spend on another centre back anyway?
Would it make any difference at all?

ppl shud be made to take a basic test re footie before posting sometimes.  On the basis of your take on it then we could just sell Suarez and get another forward.  Would that make any difference at all?

Anyway, good to start wi a night game at Anfield.  Not the best of opponents, but good performance nevertheless.  Suarez was superb.  We've got to hold onto agger, unless he wants to go, which by all accounts he doesn't.

Great performance. Nice to see Borini linking up well with Suarez.

So disappointed by what Stevie said afterwards, but in the end it is in Agger's hands and I hope he refuses to leave no matter what.

Agger doesn't want to go & the owners want to cash in.

Worrying.

Apart from Downing, who only played for the first 15 minutes, some very good signs.

But a real dampener on the night if FSG are forcing Agger out with their fucking Moneyball bollocks from rounders. Fcking sign the cheques and stay out of football.

Really enjoyed watching that.. I know the competition was sub-par, but the fact that we beat them like we should beat sub-par teams is a far cry from where we were last season.

Borini, Suarez, and Gerrard all worked well together.  Thought Downing played better tonight than 95% of his matches last season.

Great football and great result.

Can't wait for opening fixture.

(oh and damn what a hit by Johno)  :o
