Come on, you can be all high and mighty... smart arse quotes and just because you are a mod you expect me to say nothing... I go the dates of windows releases wrong... who gives a shit...

Me thinks you get too wound up too quickly. Seems smiff and mudface have done a proper number on you over the years.

Quote
Ban me, whatever, I don't care

For what? Being opinionated? I'd probably have to chop my own head off before yours. Thats the problem with having them daft stars under the name. Some cant look any further past them.

Quote
- Plenty of other people on other sites I can wind up. I just happen to like winding windows fanboys up

Fine. Go for it. I'll just continue enjoying the whole argument go round and round and round, interjecting only to challenge the views of those that I feel are technically / factually incorrect. I might, if the urge arises, throw in a bit of sarcastic humour too.

I'll continue until such time as I either:

a) I get a life.
b) Find someone who will debate the merits and pitfalls of this

Now mate, pick your toys up, wipe away them tears and we'll all just pretend we didnt just witness Prongsy acting like a 10 year old.

Mate, you completely over estimate my giveafuckability.

:lmao

And for what it's worth, I am actually 10

edit - Can I get that to run on my core 2 duo machine? Solaris, Linux, Mac OS and Vista on one machine is tempting.

I was going to try and install this on a blank hardrive to see what its like. The uni has a system which offers free software to students with genuine CD keys, and Vista Business is one of the items of software available. I've heard a lot of the games stutter and have bad fps problems. Is this true?

Why would that bother you? You're not at uni to play computer games, surely?  ;)

Bet your Vista can't do this....... I said, HEY look at this.... fellas! Look at the Mac for a moment ok and take your eyes off that crappin' Vista... hey hey! .... fine. Have it your way... don't say we didn't tell you. *shakes head and starts leaving* Geez, they're not even listening. WHAT DO I CARE?".

Moments later...

Why do you keep harping on about that? If gaming is that important to you, why use a PC? And anyway, it's not true to say that OSX doesn't support DX10; it's the other way round really. Or, if you prefer, Windows XP doesn't support DX10 either.

If I have time, I'll try downloading it over the weekend & report back.

Might be overkill for what I have in mind  (converting a spare PC into a wireless NAS server (something like this - http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/108462 )) but I'll give it a go.......

Nah, you'd be forced to buy all your food through Apple. Plus it doesn't do chops, steaks or sausages unless you buy an add-on. You can get a Linux bistro that does the same for free.

DX10 plus nVidia 8800 graphics card and a half decent processor = superior gaming to even the forthcoming PS3.

Got all three - just waiting for the games now :)

You appear to have been to the Prongsy school of accounting, Nidge. Adding a G80 series graphics card to a PC would cost about £250- 400 more than having an integrated graphics chip. That's now, with the prices high as they've just been released, you'll likely be able to pick up a DX 10 for around £100- 150 by the end of the year. Last I heard the PS3 alone was £425, never mind the cost of a telly to take full advantage of it and the £10- 15 premium per game.

nidge, not having a go mate, but you obviously haven't seen Oblivion / Fear etc on a ninja pc (above xbox 360 spec) with all the graphics options turned to full. of course you might not be into games yourself, but believe me, you being a designer, you'd be more than just a little bit impressed.

Get A Wii

I'm quite intruiged by the controls and interactivity of the Wii, but the games I have seen look pretty ordinary comapred to where most consoles are at now.

I guess you cant have it all, i.e. a machine that competes with the Xbox360 and also provides that amazing interactive experience.
