They are both on the same team (RDB Reds) but I don't know whose team that is.  :-\

RDB is not a rawkite, he's a canadian guy I work with. Just making the numbers up like.

Liz,

Joe Torre (whom you probably hate) has called Ichiro the best right fielder he's ever seen. Quite a compliment.

Hate him or not, he's a great manager, that's quite a compliment for Ichiro.

Always nice when Ichiro gets recognition from those that really know the game.

And I don't hate Torre - I actually have a grudging respect for him, but don't tell anyone. ;)

Can't believe I'm doing so awful.

Pitchers haven't really began to play yet though.

Got a feeling that one day he will be.

His all round game is superb, the only thing that lets him down is his inability to produce homers.

yea, well, its pretty tough to get into the hall of fame, he in a lot of peoples eyes is on the edge, personally, I think he should be a first ballot hall of famer, he broke the hits record for christ sake last year!  and does he ever have a cannon of an arm for such a small guy, teaches you a little something about mechanics don't it...

Certainly does.

Was a phenomenal throw the other week to get Guerrero out at the home plate.

Keep in mind this is only his 5th major league season and he's 31. He'll need a fuller resume than this to make it to Cooperstown so that kind of talk is premature. If he made his debut at age 22 lets say, then he'd be on his way because he's a terrific player. Playing in a small market club also hurts his chances but he's probably the best leadoff hitter I've ever seen.

you're definitely right, I think a lot of people just don't realize he's that old either, myself included, I constantly have to remind myself he's not a 25 year old star...  If he keeps hitting the way he is for a few more years, it'll be a tough call...

Ichiro was already a veteran player when he joined the Mariners and most people outside of Seattle probably don't know what he achieved in Japan - something like 7 straight batting titles with the Orix Blue Wave.  And he is closing on 3000 hits for his career (Orix and Seattle combined).

Hopefully he'll be around for a few more seasons, so I'm not even thinking about his HoF chances yet.  Got to concentrate on getting Edgar Martinez in first. ;)

If you are Roger Clemens then yes. Other than that, not likely

Also, how do the points work for Pitchers?

Can't work out why people get points for ER, HR, SB and Loses.  ???

SF is sacrifice fly.
SH - sacrifice hit, maybe?
Not sure about the last one . . . do we get points for average?  ???

As you can see, I haven't figured out the whole scoring system myself.  That would probably help!  ;D

All makes sense now.

Still can't believe pitchers gets points for giving up runs.

A is for a fielding assist.

And pitchers get  - points for giving up runs ::)

I have also used what is known as a stat modifier. ie a home run point more than twice as valuable as a hit.

I've got shit loads of A points, so I'm happy with that. :D

Can't you give nothing for ER? (Minus points?)

I'm getting killed as my pitching staff is too good.  ;)

It wasn't actually phrased as a question Shaun, and if you bothered to read the first post you would have noticed that it was actually inviting people to join a fantasy baseball league and specifically stated for people who have no interest or a dislike of baseball to stay away.

Randomly calling people a dickhead doesn't tend to help!
