I'm not sure why some people think that Fabinho (or Henderson) are suddenly going to be fantastic again now we can rest them for some Europa games. They had plenty of rest this season, didn't they? Fab certainly did, and was still running in treacle for most of it. It's not a rest problem, from what I've seen.

He got a decent amount of rest when he got dropped for a teenager in January and we've been playing one game a weeknin the last few months.

Klopp admits there could be a delay for new signings, but said it's no problem.

"The better the player you want, the lesser the desire of the club to let him go, so we are prepared for it,- if we have to wait 6-7 weeks (for a signing) it is not a game changer".

Interesting comments, wonder who he's talking about.

He said ideally they'd be here tomorrow but 6-7 weeks wouldn't be the end of the world. 6-7 weeks would mean they'd be here in time for pre-season.

We are 5th, out of the CL, fucked up the last two transfer windows and our primary target we found out we couldnt afford. There will be a bit of angst.

Dont get me wrong, it would be silly if we have come 2nd or 3rd. But we havent, we have had a shite season.

Yep, it's super weird that some still can't comprehend how some will be a bit fucked off at our current situation. I mean even one of our own players has basically just come out and said this season has been shite and a waste of time. Hopefully that's rectified over the summer and then next season but can't blame people for being a bit on edge, nervous, angry or whatever.

Klop”Connor Bradley is in the building yesterday. We have high hopes for him”.

Watched this compilation of his time at Bolton the other day and I'm not sure where he fits in, he would've been perfect as backup to Trent in our previous formation.  I'm going to whisper this under my breath, but watching this there were shades of Bale when he was a fullback.

I'd like us to get Scott as well, but has there been any proper links with him?

He wants to move to Spurs or Brighton and doesn’t like Liverpool.

Source: Hedley Lamarr via a Bristol City youth coach (I think). It’s not Indy Kaila but I believe him. Feels like that will be one that never quite happens. A bit Will Hughes at Derby-y.

Trent could always start in midfield. We don’t always have to play the new formation.

See Minamino and Nunez.

Klopp said we were aware of Minamino long before he played against us. He said Nunez played well in front of his eyes against Konate but that doesn't mean we signed them based on how they played against us. That's straight out of the Harry Redknapp school of management.

Far from the most encouraging words from Klopp here.

Midfield rebuild on a strict budget perhaps then.

Might be able to get Gallagher and Berge for £40 million, and then a returning Morton's going to be like a new signing  :lmao

Has anyone considered that the reason we pulled out of the Bellingham deal is that he wanted to wait to see whether we got CL or not and didn't commit for that reason?

Klopp said “Guarantees are important, if we go for it, will we get it. If you put too much focus on something you only might get, all the rest of the market could be gone theoretically." We couldn't wait for Bellingham to make up his mind before going after other players, so we cut our losses and looked at alternatives in case we missed out altogether.  That's sensible given what happened last summer.

Winning things, in the CL: can't spend much as wages+bonuses too high.
Not winning things, not in the CL: guess what, can't spend much because, erm, we're not doing the things that cost us too much money to spend much last time you asked.

But we haven't signed anyone anyway, nor has Bellingham signed for anyone, as far as I know? So we "cut our losses" by not signing him nor - as yet - anyone else? Makes no sense. Then it seems we chased Mount, who ... has chosen a CL club (and massive wages) by most reports, anyway. I mean, what are we doing? It looks like a never-ending mess from the outside. We could still have gone after other players whilst our CL fate became clear, surely?

I do think Mac Allister will happen. With the news of Mount wanting Utd I think it could well have been Mac Allister or Mount rather than both and Mac Allister is cheaper.

I think will be Mac Allister, one young midfielder like Scott and that Wolfsburg defender now.

£100m then sales to bring it back down to around £50m/£60m net in fees but significant savings in wages.

Transfer rumours are 95% nonsense. Let's see how we do once the window opens before we decide that we haven't fixed any of the problems.
