That has really upset me.  I feel so sorry for him.  He is such a pocket rocket, and a scouser to boot but his hamstrings just look like the death of his potential career.

He's got no luck at all. Very rarely do you see him have a bad game. He always seems to make an impression on the game and tonight was no different. Who knows where he'd be if he got a proper run together without an injury.
"I was pleased also with Peter Crouch. We have been talking to him, before and after his nose operation, to show more confidence with his heading.

"Now it seems to have worked. Lets say that if he has a few games without scoring again, maybe we should arrange to break his nose again."

Rafa.

Josimar Quintero, who is no relation to that other Josimar...

In other news, Chris Pratt & Chris Tarrant aren't related either ::)

Good first half, poor second. Think Chelsea's depth of quality at academy level showed.

Chirivella, man...this kid just never impresses me. Gomes looked a lot more interesting centrally than out wide(like 99% of players, but still). Sinclair continues to be enigmatic for me. Has pace and can finish, but doesn't do any hold-up play and doesn't ever take anyone on. Brannagan tidy, but not really knocking on the first team door. We clearly looked a lot better in the diamond and sad to see Dunn go down again.

Chirivella has never had a good performance when i've watched him either, granted thats about 5/10% of his matches played. Ryan Kent always stood out for me, hope Mowbray gives him ago!
People still underrate Cristiano Ronaldo.

Incredible depth of talent at youth level when you consider all the players they've got on loan as well.

To be fair a lot of those players will have never and never will play an academy game for them.

Don't think any of ours will break through out of that side. Our best talent is out on loan or in the first team (Gomez, Rossiter) which is how it should be really.

Woodburn looked good again. New role for him, but he did a better job than Dhanda did as a striker Made some smart runs and a nice finish for his goal.

Apparently Kent played ok according to someone I know who went, made some good runs with the ball running at the back line but was a bit greedy at times and could have passed though could of been looking to impress that little bit too much

How is Ojo doing at Wolves? I've been struggling to follow the championship being busy the last few weeks. Might be right in thinking he had a decent start?

He started one league game and two cup games. He has come off the bench for 4 other league games. He has an assist in the league and goal in the cup to his name. Hopefully he can start more games for them soon.

McLaughlin started for Aberdeen tonight.   Hope he stays injury free and gets lots of playing time this season.  Even if its likely he'll go, he was such a promising talent in the U21s a when he started.

Adam Lewis selected in the latest England U17 squad for Euro U17 qualifiers at end Sept/early Oct.  Been with the England U16s before and must be continuing to impress in the LFC U16s.

No news on health but he is not in the A squad list for UEFA competition (and I think he'd have to be since he was 22 in January), so he cannot play.

Injuries at bad times and hasn't really progressed at all for the last couple of years (probably due in no small part to the injuries). Shame for him but i can't see him making it with us now. I thought he had an excellent chance a couple of years back. He used to make a major impression on every game he played but you don't rally see that anymore. Hopefully this move can spark something in him.

Injury ruined last year's loan and possibly also the year before, although that may have only been a short loan.  And then he has got injured playing for U21s.

Europa League squad limited to 21 players so no room on the List A and he's a year too old for List B.

Likely to go on loan, Brentford apparently interested.

Loan window opened a week or so ago, ends on November 25th.

Firmino can play as an attacking midfielder and would certainly be picked as one ahead of Teixeira as would Lallana (deservedly so). It's the Teixeira fan club who need to give it a rest. Rossiter is probably starting the game tomorrow yet this place is full of people complaining about the omission of a lesser player.

Lallana has done it in the league already. Preferring Teix to Lallana is classic backup Quarterback syndrome. I thought Teixeira at Brighton was interesting last season, but he has never made a strong enough impression in U21s to stake a claim in our team. For a front 6 position, you need to obviously be a class above everyone else at U21.

Lallana has never played particularly well in the entire time he has been with us,. Admittedly its a tenure that has been blighted  in the most part by injury but there is no doubt that so far his signing has not sparked.

I haven't watched much u21 action apart from highlights, but to me it seems as if he's been pretty consistently involved in highlight reels on that level, and thoroughly impressed in preseason. In fact, I think he was MOTM in a couple of the games in preseason, Swindon being one of them iirc.

Wasn't he the youth player of the year when he played for the u21. So he must have stood out somehow then.
