Topic: Spirit of Shankly - loveadmin - legit?

I've had an email from Mail@loveadmin.com purporting to be from Spirit of Shankly.  It asked me to follow the link and register to renew my membership.

That all sounds quite dodgy.  There is a link for more information that redirects to http://www.spiritofshankly.com/news/agm-notice-tuesday-19th-march but that is just AGM info.

I did follow the loveadmin link and created an account, as instructed.  The profile page had all my personal info already.  That would suggest it's legit and SoS transferred this data to loveadmin.  (I'm not aware I've given approval for my data to be transferred to a third party, but hey ho.)

So how do you actually renew once you've activated your account?  (I'd email SoS directly, but I've never had responses in the past.)

I've had this too, but was on my phone so didn't click the link. My membership has lapsed so it did look legit but I hadn't noticed the full email address it came from with it being on my phone, and that does sound a bit dodgy!

We have now sent out renewal notices to everyone whose membership of SOS has expired.

Please keep an eye out for your email.

The email links to our new database managed by ‘loveadmin’ and is legit!

So how to actually renew?

To answer my own question for the benefit of others...

Overnight, "Annual Membership of Spirit of Shankly" has appeared under the Payment option.  It wasn't there yesterday when I registered.

I got this and renewed yesterday as it said what to expect and who they were using and it tallied. Mine expired and the renewal wouldn't work. I emailed them about it but didn't get a response.

It was dead easy. Like paying for something with Paypal but you can use a card, and my confirmation came by email straight away. Hoping they remind us when they are due to expire in future and I didn't last year!

I think it works well, and told them. Then got an email back from a named person thanking me for my feedback so all legit. Renew/join away!
