Dunno about this, but Howard Web is quite clearly the white Rennie.

Really. I find him hard to swallow to be honest.

Expect this White Pele tag to stick now. I can just imagine Tyler screaming it as he climaxes over yet another Roooooneeeeh goal.
I prefer Andy@Allertons "Shaved Hamster" tag.

Would sacrifice Fordy in a sacred Mayan ritual to have him (Jurgen Klopp) as the next Liverpool manager

Rooney is a very good player but he's a little bit overrated for me. He is English and plays for United though, so what do you expect?

How is he overrated? He would get in any team OR national side in the world.

And yes he would get in at Barca, he's better than Villa and Pedro, but Pedro is more important between the two.

I used to work with a cockney who went off to support England in Portugal in Euro2004 and he came back singing that White Pele nonsense so United fans can’t take the credit for it. Not that they’d want to anyway for such an awful song.

Never seen Pele, couldn't comment. Rooney is brilliant, though.
The amount of people who rank Pele as the best footballer ever, i'd be very suprised if Rooney was better...

Only one player of this generation may go down as the greatest ever and that is Messi, Rooney isn't even close.

gang of dickheads

Ibrahimovic, Pato, Suarez, Messi, Villa, Van Persie, Ronaldo, et al will all go down as better or equal to Rooney, you know when we reflect on players of this generation in the future...  he is never going to be the standout player of his time, so he might be one of the best strikers in world football - doesn't make him Pele im afraid

no he wouldnt, not with a first touch on ocassions like in the World Cup 2010. He'd be demoted to the D team. I think David Villa's goal record speaks for itself. Let me know when Rooney is record goalscorer for his country and has scored 20+ goals for 4 seasons or more

We'll have to agree to disagree, but right now Rooney is better than Villa. And will be next year and every year afterwards.

I'm not even 100% that Villa will be at Barca next year. Not saying he definately wont, but I wouldnt be shocked.

From a medal point of view of course, but didnt he go on a very long goal drought, not unlike Rooney the year before.

He was at a new club and played in a different role than what he was used to. And he contributed to their success. More important than individual goal tallies is the success of the team.

Absolutely, Valencia suited in him down to the ground - the way he has adapted into this system and still been a success is a testament to him as a player.

I genuienly think Van Persie and Pato are both better strikers than Rooney too.

3 champions league finals in 4 years and how many league titles does Rooney have. About 5 or 6 at the age of 25. I can't really count internationals either because there is no way Villa would do that well for England whilst by the age of 29 in that team Rooney would be very close to Villas record. No doubt.

What has being a loser in a european cup final got to do with anything, and don't count internationals cos Villa has won the Euro's and a World cup, then your arguement would just be blown out of the water.

forget team honours, just from watching the two play should be enough to judge a player

For who? which country is the club in? how long is the contract?  if he is my striker for the next 10 years then obviously Rooney.

but just comparing the two players, Villa is the better striker.

if i could have one at Liverpool until the end of the season, Villa without a doubt.

Sick of this ridiculous Rooney hype every time he has a purple patch. Apart from the last 4 weeks, in the last 18 months he's been absolutely shocking for club and country, but that's all forgotten cos he's had a good start to the season.

Fucking hell, he's not even the best striker in Manchester at the moment so there's not even any need to compare him to players further afield.
