I'll give Rooney his dues, he is a very good player. As strikers go, he certainly has a lot in his locker. Is he the best in the Premier League? A good case could be made to say that he is. He is certainly one of the most prominent candidates. There is no denying that. But placing him above Villa is going to far. For starters, Villa has a better goal/game ratio than Rooney does, both at club level and at International level. Villa has nearly always stood out as Spain's number 1 attacking threat. He stood out at the Euro's (apart from the final) and he stood out at the World Cup. To the best of my recollection he scored against Honduras, Chile, whilst also scoring the winners against Portugal and Paraguay. I could bolster this point even further, but I'm not even going to bother. If you think Rooney is better than Villa (who has delivered on the biggest stage of them all numerous times) then you're mental
