Same.

They've got to play a few games in quick succession in a league where they've basically boxed second. Seems appropriate.

A complete farce. I wonder what will happen if another group of fans gets a game cancelled. They can't punish the club of the offending supporters with a forfeit and deduction of points since that would clearly show they favour the Mancs.... oh wait we fucking know that already.

Yeah, they'll have nothing to play for by then. They can throw the game against Leicester, play their strongest eleven against us, and (try to) fuck us over twice.

So they will play their reserves against Leicester and it will reduce any chance of them dropping points.

How can they not face any punishment for it?

Joke of a decision but no surprise really, allowing fans into a stadium closed by CoVid regulations should have been enough to have the game awarded to us irrespective of anything else

Well they are nailed on top 3 and to qualify for CL so I’m not sure they are bothered.

The real issue is if their fans try it again against Leicester on Tuesday or even us on the Thursday.

Ha Ha, so thanks to Man Utd fans we are left with 3 away games in 6 days - absolute joke.

Indulge me in a pedantic pet peeve; how many days are there Monday-Sunday?

Now try Thursday-Wednesday.

Most people seem to say 6 for the latter which would imply 3 games and 3 rest days which isn't the case. It's still really difficult to have 2 games consecutively after short turnarounds but isn't any different from falling unlucky with a CL QF/SF draw and getting the Wednesday-Tuesday slot.

A lot of factors derailed a potential title bid but if we miss out on the top 4 we mostly have ourselves to blame.

Utter fucking disgrace - though I suppose the brown-nosing by PL/FA to Utd is hardly a surprise. So, we get 3 aways on the trot in the space of 6 days ! So, with travel in between virtually zero recovery time......Jurgen's gonna be well pleased ! Also, what guarantees are there for the safety of our staff and players....assuming they get anywhere near the ground ?

Of course they were not going to punish Utd.

The Utd supporters groups are against their owners yes, but perversely support the broken status quo of the PL - the PL are delighted with them.

Can't believe we're just bending over and taking this. It's really disappointing from our top brass and management if they just agreed to this without a fight. Soft on and off the field this season.

If a forfeit wasn't forthcoming, we should've insisted on something that would actually hurt United and keep the advantage we would've had anyway, like playing 2/3 days after the EL final as our final game of the season. Instead we're just getting fucked and United totally getting away with it. Ridiculous.

I said the other day United should get the inconvenience of 2 games in 48 hours rather than us, or us having to shift games around. We could have demanded a forfeit. That's happened, fair enough.

However, you can see them going soft on Leicester now, resting a few of their best players and Leicester not winning their last 3 games was our best bet really.

At least it gets us swing of Thursday/Sundays for next season  ::)

Could see us missing out on Europe altogether with this schedule if we don't beat Southampton. If we can beat them though we should be playing 4 teams with nothing to play for. Burnley should be mathematically safe, WBA mathematically down. These next 2 games are going to be key, if we can win them then we've got to be following it up with 3 more wins.

It does screw us, as for the first time all season the last 5 games were scheduled nicely for us.

We are nine points behind Leicester with a worse goal difference, we are not catching them regardless it’s not like we are playing well. Premier league should have been stronger with this but I’m guessing we would rather play the game cause of the money aspect.

It's feasible Leicester beat Newcastle but get little change out of their last 3 games which would get us above them with 5 wins or possibly even 4 wins (we have a game in hand). The cup final in the middle of that as well. In that scenario we'd beat their goal difference.
