When is the new fixture date announced?

No idea but id strongly suggest it will be Sunday 16th May 4.30pm we have that slot for WBA anyway.

WBA game will be moved probably 11-12th May.

That is my guess anyway.

We should absolutely be given the 3 points here, don't see how the FA can argue that.

But the idea that Utd fans should've protested during the Europa semi final for more impact is laughable.  If Liverpool were playing a European semi final for our only chance of silverware, there'd be zero chance of our fans trying to get the game stopped to put pressure on the owners.  We'd pick the exact same fixture that they did.
Sit down, shock is better taken with bent knees.

But then don't we end up giving away most of our money to shareholders rather than the club using it?

Dividends will be discretionary and only if the club turn a profit? This way there’s added incentive from the fans for the club to be run well and turn a profit since the fans will be the owners. They can then balance out the pros and cons between reinvesting the money into the squad or to take dividends out of the club.
Referees and the PGMOL can do no wrong.

There were clubs around Christmas time cancelling fixtures due to Covid outbreaks, which were caused by players breaking bubbles and Covid protocols somewhere. That was potentially a matter of life and death, and a direct consequence of players/staff not taking the necessary precautions.

And I’m absolutely staggered by the amount of Liverpool fans on here who are happy to use the exact same arguments against this that have been used against us over the years, without any hint of irony. All of those things you're saying were used against us when we protested H&G.

We were told we were whingers who just wanted Saudi owners so we could dominate football again like we did in the 80s. And guess what? Some of our fans did want that but actually most of our fans have been fairly happy with just having owners who don't leverage our club to the hilt with debt and make smart choices for us on and off the pitch (with some notable exceptions). I mean, remember when we were being told by the rest of the country that Roy Hodgson was a nice bloke and we shouldn’t expect anything better for our club!? This is their football club and if they’re not happy with a particular aspect of it, they have every right to protest against it. Why is this making people so angry??

You're clearly upset by the coverage and the idea that people think they're 'saviours of football' but we don't. Nobody, apart from Gary Neville, thinks they're some knight in shining armour here to save us from capitalism. What we think is that they've displayed a huge amount of fan power that has made people all over the world take note. On top of the SEL protests this has been the biggest uprising by top flight English football fans in the thirty years since the game started being sold off. This isn't a revolution but all of these little moments, including our own walk-outs and protests, are part of an evolution toward fans reclaiming a bit of power.

Excellent post.

Been disappointed with the reaction on here. Not sure how people can shake their head about the state of modern football one second and then moan when fans actually do something about it the next.

A third would be COVID violations being breached.

Rather than having to forfeit the match, I reckon at most they get a fine (probably at minimum £100k) and a suspended stadium ban. Had this happened with a club like say Newcastle I think you'd be looking at fine, forfeit, stadium ban/behind closed doors applied next season for at least a game and possibly some sort of points deduction

Yeah, I got the feeling they were very deliberate in using the covid breach as the reason to postpone the game, rather than the fan trouble, to avoid the possibility of having to give a forfeit. The forfeit can cause other headaches which the PL would rather avoid, like complaints from Chelsea or West Ham.

Shut up ffs.   Where was the 'United front movement by football fans' this time last year when every fucking one of them were frothing at the mouth for Null & Void?  Fuck that and fuck them.  It's dog eat dog.  Community-led football is gone and will never be the same and to expect solidarity over anything is naive as fuck.  The picture painted that all 6 clubs came together over the ESL shit show is a false one as well.  Each club thought only about their own situation on that one.  It even ended with point scoring against each other over which clubs were the main instigators and who the 'reluctant' ones were.  And to top it all you've got senior pundits like Neville taking cheap digs at every given opportunity.

So no, I don't believe there will ever be a collective movement of fans, ever.  It's way past that now, unfortunately.

But yeah, pretending to be morally outraged by want United fans did on Sunday is cringeworthy and absolute tory behaviour.

Is it Tory behaviour to suggest that ownership of a football club doesn’t warrant violence and people getting injuries that’ll likely disfigure them while doing their job? Or that actually it was a bunch of drunk Chelsea and the lionising of them as fucking freedom fighters is a bit weird? This wasn’t a human rights protest or anything, it was a bunch of Chelsea upset that City (and, to a lesser extent, us) are more successful when they believe it’s their right. ESL and the Glazers was an excuse for them not a reason.

Also bullshit with the “not all United fans” in terms of their mockery and disgusting behaviour over the last 30 years. It might not be all of them, but it was tens of thousands rather than the odd rotten egg.

The most common reaction I’ve seen is not wanting to join forces with that shower. And I’d say that’s completely understandable. The Glazers and the United fans’ protests against them have got nothing to do with us. So fuck  em. Much rather concentrate on our own club. They never helped us out with H&G, just sneered because they were winning stuff back then. And that’s fine, not a problem. We didn’t need them then, and most of us don’t want anything to do with them now. Shower of fuckin shite.

This is it exactly.

Fine there were 100% a handful who were protesting who were doing so for reasons we can all agree on, but let's not pretend that the majority were there for any other reason than wanting these owners out, and new owners with deeper pockets who will spend like their cross city rivals.

Didn't see them wanting to join forces with us when H&G were selling the family silver and taking us to the edge of administration. In fact, quite the opposite, they reveled in it.

No - what's been cringeworthy has been the abject silence from some on here, in support of the protests, not calling out the violence that we all saw.....a copper with his face slashed, another with an eye socket fractured etc.
I supported what was initially a peaceful protest - but, then it degenerated into an unruly mob.

Exactly!  Otherwise they'd all be down at the Etihad tonight "uniting" with their City mates 'for the good of the game'.  Nice big high profile game there tonight I've heard.  And with two clubs with the most scrupulous ownerships in world football.  Perfect, no?

Somehow I find it hard to believe that these teenage street urchins, swinging off the goalframe, taking selfies, or the scruffy twats with their faces hidden, taking selfies in front of riot police, give a shiny shite about the soul of football.
Neither did the person/people responsible for slashing open a coppers face.

But all credit to them for doing it peacefully.

The club is responsible for the safety of their own stadium.

If they can't play a game that's been caused by their fans then that's down to them.

The Police and the local authority are also responsible for safety in and around stadiums. There was a meeting between both clubs, the Police and the local authority and all parties agreed to call it off on safety grounds.
