Last U23s of the season tonight, away v Leicester, and they’re no showing it on lfc.  Very annoying

Doesn't look like Leicester are showing it either

Team
Jakub Orzynski, Tony Gallacher, Owen Beck, Tom Clayton, Remi Savage, Leighton Clarkson, Luis Longstaff, Elijah Dixon-Boner, Fidel O'Rourke, Paul Glatzel, Ben Woodburn. Subs- Liam Hughes(gk), Joe Hardy, Jack Walls, Sean Wilson, Kade Gordon

Good to see Kaide Gordon already involved with the U23s - if he carries on playing as well as he has for the U18s since he joined us, it won’t be long before he’s a regular at this level.

Dixon-Boner might have a hard time getting a start there
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

I think Kaide is involved because the the rest of the U18 squad will be preparing for the U18s fa cup semi final on Weds eve.  Nothing more

It helps but you can't hold back talent and he clearly has lots of it. He's been the in-form player for our u18's since he joined the club and he is still only 16.

And he's scored on debut. Think he's got a good chance of being involved with the first team over preseason. Can't imagine he'd have moved here without being reassured about a quick progression

He was already around the first team picture at Derby. Not sure if he'd made his debut for them but think he's obviously already well above u18 level. Would expect him to impress for the u23s next season.

Whatever the reasons were for his involvement tonight, he’ll be playing at a higher level than the U18s next season.

It will be interesting to see if he is involved in pre-season with the first-team, but he and Balagizi are the two who I think are most likely to get an opportunity.

I know they're young but I can see both getting League Cup/Europa League minutes next season. That's if we're in the Europa League of course as we could slip further down the table. Elliot was only 16 when he got his debut, and I think the likes of Gordon and Musialowski are at a similar talent level.

Is it a surprise Ipswich are in the semi? Are they even in the same league? Probably only asking that because they're in League 1 but I suppose it doesn't have a massive effect on the quality of their youth set up. Regardless, strong team and a frightening attacking line up.

I don’t think Norwich  werent an obvious winner of the FA youth cup in 2013, when they beat chelsea I think over 2 legs.  But they had a few minor gems, like the Murphy twins.  Anything can happen in these cup games, especially single legs.  I think Everton knocked out both Man City and Chelsea, then lost to Sheffield Weds this year

We play in the U18 Premier League (North) & that is for tier 1 academies & Ipswich play in what is called the U18 Professional Development League & is for tier 2 academies.

It is split regionally, Ipswich are 2nd in the Southern division, but finished 10pts behind Charlton U18s the league winners in the South.

Been a competitive game (as you would expect) so far

Ipswich have done a lot of running to close the space so hopefully they tire later on

1-0 Ipswich, right before half time

Goalkeeper needs to do better and we switched off from the cross
