They've taken two points off the bitters and three off the six-fingered lot.  I love Bournemouth and Eddie Howe.   ;D

If they can learn how to defend then they could stay up, until then, I think they'll go down still.

I think they'll stay up to be honest. Howe seems to have found a good balance now. Putting an extra man in midfield, adding pace up front and out wide (King and Stanislas) and they look a lot more dangerous for it.

The Russian owner has invested 25 million of his own cash to get them where they are now.  It would appear he now has that back as he has sold 25% share of the club to an American organisation.

I think their strategy is to try and stay up using TV money from this year.  If they manage that, then reap the rewards of the TV money from next season and invest in a new state of the art stadium.  Then the infrastructure is complete:

Premier League
Top manager, home grown, who says he never wants to leave
First class stadium and in a location where top players would want to live
Billionaire investment from Russians and Americans

I had a good wedge on them staying up as I have watched this story unfold over a few seasons now.  They want it so bad and play football far more pretty than most sides in the Premier League.

They won't need to spend as much next summer if they do stay up either. Having Wilson, Mings and Gradel back from long term injuries will feel like 3 MASSIVE signings who all improve the first team drastically.

I think it's a great story.....from the brink of extinction to premier league club is truly remarkable. I hope they avoid the drop and become an established top flight club. No one would deserve it more!!

I was there yesterday, and I know West Brom had 10 players for the majority, but Bournemouth knocked it about really well and looked really good.

Iturbe. Remember we were linked with him not too long ago? For quite a big fee as well. He hasn't kicked on or played a lot but he's still young and can still be a success.

They went on reduced sale for West Brom away and as my brother has a few away credits it was fairly easy! My mum is good friends with Marc Pugh too so that helps.

Iturbe would be a great signing!

It'll be a brilliant signing if he actually does something for Bournemouth. He was terrible for Roma.

He's been utterly brainless for Roma. Get's the ball and runs down blind alleys. Looked more promising prior to his move there though. I'd be surprised if Bournemouth pay the reported buy out, but Roma will snap off their hands if they do, as they were probably preparing to make a big loss on him.

He will give them some pace at least.

To be fair, Roma as a whole have been terrible this season. He was impressive before moving to Roma. Will remain to be seen how he does at Bournemouth but I think he'll be a brilliant signing. Perfect for them in that he's quick and technically gifted

In fact, he has been 1 and a half years at Roma and he simply failed to impress. At some point, whether Roma were terrible or not, he should have showed something. I'm with mc_red on that.

Not denying that he's been poor, but as I said he was good before moving there. I think he suits a team that counter attacks and Roma don't do that much unless playing the top teams.

Is it just me that thinks Eddie Howe could go to the very top? His Bournemouth play excellent football across the ground and work harder then any other team in the league. They lost three key signings to huge injuries, had some pretty piss luck and yet have a decent shot of avoiding relegation - not mentioning the games against Chelsea and United. Think he's great myself - could be a really big manager I think.

I like Eddie Howe, seems a good honest fella with his feet planted firmly on the ground, I think he could comfortably manage a top 6 side, but after getting burned by the last bright young thing, I'd prefer if it wasn't us.

Iturbe is a good signing for them. With Gradel and Wilson injured it's important they have a bit of depth in those attacking positions that can offer pace. Iturbe does just that and with Ritchie and Stanislas that is a dangerous set of wingers.

Lewis Cook from Leeds rumoured to be signing too, not seen much of him myself but have heard good things.

Still think they are short up front though, Glenn Murray is stinking the place out and looks like he doesn't give a fuck. Josh King can't last 90 minutes either. I think they could do hell of a lot worse than going back for Lewis Grabban, who was very good for Bournemouth in the Championship a couple of seasons back and is exactly the type of striker that Eddie Howe likes.

The narrative some try to push of Bournemouth being some kind of fairy tale story is of course nonsense. They have a net spend of ~£40m this season already, and were one of the biggest spenders in the Championship (and league one) despite such small income.

You can point to Eddie Howe's impressive coaching, but the true star seeing them to the top is the rich Russian fella pouring millions and millions into the club. Personally hope they go down and get replaced by a bigger club like Derby or Boro

I don't know about their Championship years but it makes sense to push the envelope now. They have a chance to stay up and the TV money kicks in next season.

I'm really surprised Villa / Castle aren't doing their best to stay up.

Exactly the sort of signings they should make, if they do go down they're not exactly gonna be banging the door down demanding to leave.

Hope they stay up mind, please let the void claim Villa, Sunderland and Newcastle.

What is that, 5 strikers and they play one up front? Wilson, King, Murray now added to with Afobe and Grabban?

Why not buy a keeper?
