Last night of the Melbourne International Film Festival tonight. Disappointed with what I chose to be honest. BUT saw a film called Ali's Wedding tonight... and it's saved my festival. It's a lovely Australian film set around a Muslim community in Melbourne. (a bit like an Australian Muslim version of The Big Sick) I've just come out the cinema walking on air. As did most of the crowd.

What happened to Monday is awful to watch - if you like Noomi Rapace, you will enjoy it, if not, not so much. If you don't know her, you might get to enjoy her, you might not; saying that, that must have been one difficult shoot for her to complete.

Still though - it just isn't really that good.

Dude, I don't even get the comparisons with Mara's performance - Mara was far more dynamic in the role and she didn't chew the scenery a bit like NR.

She reminds me a bit of Albert Moreno.

Color of Money is great - forgot how good it was.

Some great camera work in that film.

Make  to see Detroit as soon as possible, this is one of the most intense and shocking films of the last twenty years. In the mould  of Mississippi Burning or Do The Right Thing, it is a wake up call to America. Faultless performances and a mind blowing reality check.

That's much better than the first trailer. I was seriously afraid of it succumbing to the blockbuster hype and be more about action and incredible sequences than drama and a thoughtful premise.

Currently 1/3 of the way though reading 'Ready Player One' and absolutely loving it.  A lovely bit of easy escapism.  Its worth it just for all the old D&D and Video-game references.

The book is really wetting my appetite for the movie next year which i reckon is going to be immense.

I thought John Wick 2 was fantastic.

Every bit as cool and stylish as the original.

I hate when these action films forget what made people love them in the first place and veer off in a different direction, or get ideas above their station.... I'm looking at you The Raid 2.

The film just flys by and I was surprised to see the run time was 2 hours, seemed much shorter.

I would rate it 9 headshots out of 10.
