Yeah, I have checked all the Auxerre sites and there is no news yet. If it is a possible break then he will need a scan anyway.

Could do with finding out if he walked off the pitch or got carried off.  If he walked off then unlikely that he broke his leg, unless he is bloody tough :P
So all say thanks to the Shanks

He never walked alone

This may help, translation from AFP (Agence France Press, the french news agency) :

"...Auxerre were soon deprived off Djibril Cissé. The championship's leading scorer, still hampered by an ankle injury, had to go off too soon before his final departure to Liverpool".

saw him walking off the pitch, he looked quite in pain though... still no leg broken or something bad like that... i've heard it was his ankle, a reccurent injury apparently

From the official site:

Quote
Liverpool's No.1 summer transfer target Djibril Cisse was carried off the pitch on Sunday night after just 13 minutes with an ankle injury.
News of the striker's injury will cause serious concern at Anfield where the French international was due to arrive on July 1.

Gerard Houllier has been tracking the Auxerre striker for three years and Cisse has made no secret of his desire to join the Reds in the summer and play alongside Michael Owen at Anfield.

Cisse was playing his final game for Auxerre against Nice in the Stade municipal du Ray when he went down holding his ankle after just 13 minutes. The injury was serious enough for the player to be immediately substituted but it has become clear that there was no break.

"I would have preffered to finish my career at Auxerre differently," claimed Cisse after the game, "but I have to accept that it has happened and put it into context. I haven't broken my leg and the injury has only put me back about a month."

Auxerre drew the match 1-1.

Not great news but still not too bad news really. Should be back for pre-season so nothing to worry about, it seems.

Yeah I have seen those before. He scores a couple of good goals including a diving header, a screamer of a penalty (Bordeaux #2) and a super speedy run (FC Metz).

I can't wait til we sign him. I wonder if we all get haircuts like him...  ::)

This just about ensures it I guess.  From .tv:

PARRY: CISSE WILL GET US 20 GOALS A SEASON
Paul Eaton 26 May 2004
Rick Parry has confirmed that French ace Djibril Cisse will still be signing in at Liverpool on schedule on July 1 - and he predicts the Auxerre man will net 20 goals a season for the Reds
There had been some speculation the Cisse deal could be in doubt after the manager who tracked him for three years left the club, but Parry has insisted he will definitely be a Liverpool player next season.

The Reds' chief executive said: "Cisse is a very exciting player with a good goalscoring record. He has pace and power and all the qualities a modern striker needs. He is someone who we believe is capable of scoring 20 goals a season.

"I don't think you could have taken the decision not to sign Cisse just because we have parted company with Gerard."

best if you speak french (which incidentally the extent of mine is pot pourri a la delboy) but if you can navigate around the site blindly it's quite cool. theres a stream of a couple of his goals too, which looks impressive - if you are like me and aint got broadband it's handy - the only stream i've found - downloads take far too long on 56k. http://www.djib-cisse.com/

Hi vegara,

When you post a new thread in the LFC forum, can you not use hyperlinks in the first line of the initial post? This causes problems with layout/formatting on the RAWK front page.

Ta,

Happy news coming from a friend of mine who met him last week in the South of France. Cissé is spending a month in a physiotherapy (??) centre in Boulouris (near St-Raphael), the same place where Robert Pires had his his broken knee healed 2 years ago. He's doing pretty well said the doctors and the physios.
About Liverpool, he said that he's adapted really well, he loves the city, the team etc. but he couldn't undertsand some of the criticism towards him.

Good luck Djibril  :wave
