That working well for you?
Yep. Seriously, whether it's Boots own, a brand name or just the drug bought straight from the chemist, it's all exactly the same drug.

Indeed, I use the white label loratadine rather than any of the claritin or other branded stuff, which is about £1.50 for 2 weeks supply. Mind you I'm not sure anti-histamines help me much anymore, steroid nasal sprays make a big difference when the pollen is bad for me.

Sounds like you've got something else mate, hayfever has nothing to do with your arse. Get down the doctors quick. I don't want to ruin your confidence in that brand but the brands are exactly the same, as is Boot's own, Superdrug's own etc etc. Go to a chemist and ask for ceterizine hydrodichloride and you get the same drug for about a fraction of the price. I buy 36 tablets for £3.99 whereas the same tablets marketed as Zirtec, Piroten etc etc are more like £3.99 for 7 tablets.

Not doubting you mate, but I'm quite happy with the placebo effect!

I was just going to talk about how much hayfever is killing me this year but an advert for a programme about a man with 10 stone testicles was just on and suddenly my itchy eyes don't seem so bad.

Loratadine I have. Having to take two a day mind. I pay about 2.40p for 30 tablets but that's with a 20% discount from the Pharmacy in the hospital where I work.

I use Piriton and nasal spray, though the nasal spray is very rarely used, only when things get extremely bad.

I never knew, until a few days ago, that nasal spray can very bad for your overall health and it's not meant to be used everyday, as it can cause rhinitis medicamentosa which makes the nasal spray less effective and it can cause nose blockages.

Never had it until this summer, don't get the itchy eyes too much, just lots of sneezing that at times is painful. Take the tablets once a day and they do the job really.

Mines been really bad this past week - been taking 2 Laratadine a day (Tescos own 30 for just over £2) and using an anti allergy eye drop as well because my eyes have been really red and sore.

Correct. My dad stopped getting it when he was 15. Subsequently, my wife only started with it when she was 32..... though we had just moved into a very rural area will farmers fields all around us.

I get it pretty bad, tried everything over the years with little helping. Currently on Benadryl Plus, some nose spray from Tesco and a prescribed inhaler as it gets on my chest and I struggle to breath.

Found those to be the best over the years but even still I've been KO'd by it the last two days, mainly because I've spent most of both days sorting the garden out.

Currently sat in the car with the aircon on contemplating the idea of sleeping in here tonight given how little sleep I got last night.

Know how you feel mate. It's doing my head in today.

What I find works pretty well in start taking the tablets months before summer.

However, make sure you take them everyday even if you don't have it.

I haven't take any all well and today I am suffering.

I take Piriton in liquid form and it does the trick. My main problem is a running nose, I still get itchy eyes but its manageable, whereas streaming nostrils are hellish. Otrivin nasal spray is very good too when all else fails, but you have to use nasal sprays and decongestants sparingly.

Rarely, I will roll up tissues and put them into my nose, end up looking like Rudolph the Rednose Walrus with snot-soaked, two-ply bungs for tusks. That actually really helps, but its not practical. A nice cold shower can provide brief relief too.

You sound like my mum mate, she has said that to me since I've been about 7  ;D

Done that though, including starting them well before pollen season and also different types of tablets to find one that works for me. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to help and I still get it bad.

The 3 things above I've mentioned really so help, along with Optrex eye drops which forgot to mention, but when it's bad they all do nothing and I'm fucked.

If you've a car with aircon then go and sit in there for a bit, 15-30mins with it on full blast and it'll clear up mostly.

I do that too, and it really does help. Even more so when you've one nostril blocked as it'll allow you to breath out the other and can really really help.

Yesterday was a terrible day. The office I work in, well the grass round the building was cut. I had to ring the wife to come and collect me as I couldnt see properly with sinus pain. Couldnt stop sneezing.

Today is much better, seems to have settled and being a bit cooler has helped.
