About £12k now

There is a fundraising night in the Royal Oak at 7pm next Sat with a quiz, raffle, music....and we're all taking stuff so we have a buffet

tried to donate again a few mins ago but says ‘campaign not ready’’ the campaign organiser needs to log into their account

It was dead quiet last week - hardly went up at all - but we had the fundraising night on Sat which brought in £1,100, then yesterday someone donated £3000!!! And another £500, as well as small amounts. Just stunned.

So we might still do it. I'll let her know now. Thanks

She said it's because it is suspended until the funds are released - so they can pass the owner - but it is taking ages. I asked if people can donate again after, or she needs to set up a new one with a smaller target for the rest... not sure yet. She hasn't do it before

We are doing a bucket collection at Marine FC on Sat - when AFC Liverpool play the new league champions so that might bring in a bit more

I know they haven't got all they need but they were going to speak to them to see if they could extend it a bit... hopefully!!

Not sure if I will be on 2moro night - bed early as up at 2.30am for Rome

but I will find out and get back to you.

That is a great idea - just not sure I have the confident to do that! .....or the bucket!

I'll think on though....

We come back at 2am so most will be asleep having been up for 24 hours by then too $:-\$

.....or still buzzing their tits off. Oooh that inspires me - if you don't have a bucket, take yer bra off and pass that around. You have to learn to improvise

I assumed it had been the fund raiser for the big increase, but amazing that somebody donated that amount, I’ll keep trying the gfm page, failing that I’ll look out for the buckets at marine, I’m down there Saturday as the tea rooms opposite are a drop off point for a cat charity

They are hoping they can find someone else to get a mortgage with. Samantha Giles from Emmerdale is a supporter and said she has a friend with sorts them so she'll speak to him. Just hope she can! There is no way they can raise £65,000 right now.

But it did come as s hick - when Paula was off for a week on doctor's advice as she has been overdoing it! $:-\$

Sorry it's been so long since my last update, just had a lot on.

They applied to the Charity Bank for their mortgage....and got turned down as they said their outgoings were too high, but their income has been more than the expenditure for the last few years

(Accounts on Charity Commission website.)

So they spoke to others they were put in touch with and applied to another one, but they keep asking for more info....but that's better than a straight no. $:-\$ So they are still hoping... They have had to pay their landlord £5k for more time but they are still trying...

BUT the bank they've applied have insisted on a survey being carried out. Anybody got a mate who does building/commercial surveys by any chance? They have some money but obviously they are a charity and they don't have lots. Could do with "mates' rates" if possible!!

They have tried a few but people aren't ringing them back so even a good recommendation (name and tel no please) would be a help.

It is obviously a very stressful time for the staff so they just want to get things sorted asap and find out their fate.

Yes, sorry, I should have added an update but just been so bust lately.

They were left a lot of money in the will of an old woman which meant they had enough to pay for most of it BUT they won't get that for a while and did not secure a bridging loan from anywhere - seems crazy to me as they'd been there over 25 years.

But then a man on London said his late wife LOVED cats and he heard about their plea so he has agreed to give them the rest to buy it outright, AND lend them enough for now to secure it until their legacy comes through!!!

The two catteries will be named after the 2 women. The staff are still in shock, but coming up with some great ideas for improvements.

Paula made herself ill over Xmas with the worry bit lots of supporters prayed for a Xmas miracle and... (I am not religious but it helped them.)

Either way, fabulous news. Now they just need to cover the vet bills for all the abandoned kittens/cats they have had to rescue lately.
