Bit underwhelming fixtures today compared to yesterday. Think I'll go for Bayern vs Celtic.

yeah, its a shame how they lined 'em up for the group stages. All the teams I want to see all play the same nights! I'd have loved to have seen the RB Leipzig and Dortmund games live during the group stage, but no such luck.

I guess I'll watch the Bayern game too.  Nothing else there is even vaguely interesting to me.

I do have the Quarabag game on now, it's on Spanish TV here, which is great. I understand about 1 word out of 20 and they talk a million miles an hour :D Far preferable to English commentarors!

Away to Bayern gonna be difficult. Hopeing for a draw, at worst not a hammering.

I can't help but think this is the best game to be honet. It could be a bad time for Celtic to be meeting Bayern though.

Spanish teams are much worse in CL this year. Sevilla doing bad, now Atletico will struggle if they fail to win at Azerbaijan. Even Real Madrid doesn't look unbeatable in CL.

yeah maybe, but I know bugger all about Italian teams, and I don't like Chelsea and find 'em a bit dull. My only reason for going for the Bayern game really is cos they are a top club that I am very well aquainted with :D And I do tend to watch the German teams regarless.

If it's a shit game, I think the Chelsea - Roma one would be the one I switch too. Not even sure which games are on the tv here today actually, I should probably check before making plans!

Still 0-0 in the Qarabag - Atletico game with 15 mins to go.

That will be only 1 goal scored in 3 matches for Atletico. They won't go far with defending and sometimes nicking 1-0's only.

Maribor might be worse than them but winning away from home in this comp should never be taken for granted

And it's finished 0-0.  Qarabag had some good moments themselves, but not exactly a thrill a minute game, which is no surprise :D

For every Maribor (who frankly give credence to idea that smaller teams shouldn't have the champions route to the CL), there is a Qarabaq.

Overall, I think it's a net benefit. Well in Qarabaq!

This will be the most celebrated night in Azerbaijan's football history.

UEFA are destroying the competition. The gap between the sides from the big leagues and the rest is too wide. The scores are getting silly and it will only get worse.

I saw a Stat a few weeks ago and the amount of games won by 3 goals plus in the group stages has risen year on year

Why ?

Depends what happens in Chelsea v Roma ties.

Far too early to say that.

A bit early to predict I think. If they win their remaining 3 they will probably be through, and if Chelsea beat Roma tonight they may go through with 7 points from the last 3 games.

Insightful comment there

Commentator: one thing is noticeable from the games in the CL this year is the pace the games have started at
Thick co-commentator: that's credit to all the teams in the competition

Mueller puts Bayern into a deserved lead. They left Lewandowski all on his lonesome right in  front of goal! Mueller gets the rebound off the save.

Heynckes :) Yes, just to the end of the season, they they will make their choice on a new coach.

I like Mueller too, he's had a struggle the last year, but he's been a class player for a long time, and still only 28.
