You seem to be quite content with them in the Premier League, especially when they fuck us over.

Refs have poor performances all over Europe, but people just love to bash the English ones.

However whinging and putting excuses down to refs isn't my thing.

Is it just me or has VAR turned into another way refs / authorities can favour Juve over the smaller teams ? it took them over 3 minutes to overturn the Fiorentina penalty decision, I got the feeling they were just looking and looking until they found something .... anything. I'm not a huge Juve fan though so I could be a bit biased here.

I'm going to be in Milan for the Milano derby and so I'm considering buying tickets for the game.

For anyone that's been to the San Siro, do you have any advice?

Also is the derby usually a safe place for a non-Italian speaking person? I'm supporting Inter for this one but I'm in two minds whether to wear a top seeing as they're the "visitors".

Thanks.

Probably the least vitriolic derby/rivalry I’ve ever attended. Obviously you get your dickheads but much much less than Juve, Roma and Napoli to name just three, have in their ranks.
Should be fine as a straniero, Milan views itself as quite an educated/civilised community and there are rarely problems at matches there.

Thanks for the reply mate, much appreciated.

I watched a few videos last night and it seems that the ultras have a peace treaty when it comes to the derby.

Booking the tickets tonight. I'm really looking forward to it, first Serie A game :D

No problem mate, enjoy it. Despite the fact that both sides are still relatively on their downers, it won’t detract from the occasion.

Enjoying this juve doc series on Netflix, didn’t think pjanic would be speaking to his kid in French!

Cengiz doing his thing again, Roma picking up form at a good time for the CL. Inter fucked up again tho. This was funny tho

I just watched that game, Inter were poor. Not really sure why Rafinha was on the bench leaving a 33 year old Borja to play between the lines behind a 30+ Eder. As an attacking, er, force...Inter were cumbersome. Karamoh on this occasion was probably the worst player on the pitch too but since he's 19 played 90 whereas Borja and Candreva, the latter their main threat this evening, came off early.

Genoa didn't create much and scored an absurd goal, one Inter centre-back clearing into the other off whom the ball rebounded back into the net. The stats sites rating algorithms immediately plummeted Rannochia's number but he could do nothing. It was a rubbish goal. Second was better, Pandev the ultra cool old fella taking a great touch to take a wild shot from his teammate under control and sending the ball to relax in the bottom corner. Genoa are very solid defensively, a sobering mixture of sheer numbers and structure. Rafinha did in fact move them around and managed 40 odd passes in about 30 minutes of football. Much sharper, much quicker with him but they couldn't find any sort of breakthrough and Genoa deserved the win.

I just realized that Gianluigi Donnarumma's older brother Antonio Donnarumma is the substitute goalkeeper for AC Milan.
Also, why the hell is Ricardo Rodrigues taking their penalty kick when Calhanoglu, Cutrone, Suso are all on the field?

Lazio and Inter trying very hard to gift one another that CL spot and looks like neither want to take it. AC Milan has been better with Gattuso in charge so I wonder if they can make a run for it and get that spot.

2 more for Ciro Immobile makes 21 for the season. 4 clear of Icardi. He's been brilliant. Only a point off Roma and crucially one ahead of Inter in 4th.

Wonderful record over the last two seasons. There are some Italian strikers who just seem to do it in Serie A. Would've been interesting to see him at the World Cup, still makes me sad I'll be seeing a World Cup without them.

I would say Italy missing out could he a good thing as a wakeup call but ultimately  that realisation is already there among the club owners and fans. Since the football body and higher authorities won't act, the clubs are trying to do it, but it's taking place at a glacial pace. There are still less than ten club owned stadiums + surrounding  facilities iirc.

April 22nd away in Turin.

It’s some pace these two are keeping up.  Football never used to be like this - I’m reading Scott Murray’s book The Title right now, and it feels like every other year the league gets won just by whoever happens to be holding the parcel when the music stops in mid-May.

Modern leagues, you have a bad week and that’s it, game over.  They don’t produce many title races anymore, but when you do get one it’s relentless tension.
