Thanks for keeping the thread going.

All geared up now to start again! League AGM tomorrow, a few awards coming our way I think. Then pre-season starts.

We're not going up into the next division to consolidate, we will be doing everything we can to compete at the top. It won't be easy, it's a hard division with some very good teams that are stuck there because step 5 is a bit of a bottleneck in the pyramid. Because of the number of feeder leagues to step 4, there's usually only a promotion spot for the champions, so there's really good sides and well established clubs in there.

Then there's the FA Cup!

Some will not know but the above game finished 2-2 just got back from yet another brilliant game at Vesty rd where the Purps demolished Cables 8-2 in the replay.

Now through to the first qualifying round of the FA cup.

Get along to a game if you can, top footy and a good laugh.

Popped along tonight myself as it goes, as abysmal as Cables were (and they were extremely), the Purps played some great football. Seventh goal in particular was excellent.

4-4 and they hit the bar with the last kick of the game. We were poor considering they went down to 10 men

Padiham outfought us this weekend first half, once we started to play it was too late and we couldn't convert our chances so we cannot moan with the 2 nil defeat

Next up, Runcorn town Tuesday, get yourself down there for a tough game against the league leaders, 100% record I think they have

Craig Robinson appointed Player Manager of COLFC
The Board of Directors of City of Liverpool FC are pleased to announce that Craig Robinson has been appointed as Player / Manager of the club with immediate effect.

Craig brings with him a wealth of experience throughout the Non-League pyramid and the respect of everyone at the club; from the Tea Ladies to the Players, to the Supporters to the Volunteers and Directors.

On his appointment Craig said “I wasn’t looking for a role in management at present as I still feel I have got at least 1 good season left in me on the pitch, but once I got approached I spoke to the squad and they have given me total support and along with the support of the Directors, I felt it was too good an opportunity to turn down.

I’m honoured to be given the chance to manage this great club in my home City with so much potential and I’m looking forward to getting stuck into the job and doing my best”.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Chairman Paul Manning said “We always wanted continuity and having spoke to the playing squad at training on Monday it was clear that they wanted continuity as well at this crucial time of the season.

We have been inundated with enquiries and applications from all across the football spectrum over the last couple of days and we are grateful to everybody who has contacted the club.

Craig is a good lad and very humble, but we have seen his will to win on the pitch and the respect that he commands in football and we know that he has the total support of the playing squad, so we are very confident that we have made the right choice.”

Craig will be appointing his backroom team shortly.

The Club would genuinely like to thank our members and supporters for their total support and patience at what has been a very busy time for the club.

Any word on submitting the business plan for the Fazakerley stadium site?  6 months is coming up from that Echo article.

The only news I can see on CoLFC's news feed is they got a "world class" architect to volunteer

Quote
Fazakerley Native (and World Class architect) volunteers to work on #ProjectL10

City of Liverpool FC are delighted to announce that Fazakerley born & raised Kevin Owens is to join our #ProjectL10 board in an architectural advisory capacity.

Kevin is literally a world class designer and with his London based architectural firm WilsonOwenOwens was the Head of Design for London 2012, and recently Liverpool’s 2022 Commonwealth Games bid. The team is currently in the final stages of design for AFC Wimbledon’s New Plough Lane Stadium project and is working with both Everton FC and Burnley FC on major projects, amongst many other football and sports related commissions.

Upon hearing about The Purps’ opportunity to regenerate Fazakerley Playing Fields in conjunction with Liverpool City Council, Kevin made contact via club Director Cathy Long to offer his assitance in a completely volunteering capacity.

Like the rest of the volunteers at COLFC, Kevin simply wants to help his local community and specifically his neighbourhood of Fazakerley where his parents and relatives still live.

Chairman of COLFC Paul Manning said “Kevin is a great addition to our project team and simply wants to bring his expertise and experience to bear, on behalf of City of Liverpool FC and his own community in Fazakerley, where he still holds strong family ties.

Having a man of Kevin’s calibre working on the project with us, simply cannot do anything other than strengthen our ability to deliver an outstanding business case to Liverpool City Council and assuming we are successful, deliver a superb community football hub for the whole city.”

Kevin said “The vision of the club and this project is exactly what we are about. We’re looking forward to help deliver the project’s transformational vision for both the club and the local community of Fazakerley. It’s great to play our role on home turf.”

And they signed Adam Pepper and Karl Clair, both of whom played in LFC's youth system.
“It's impossible,” said Pride.  “It's risky,” said Experience.  “It's pointless,” said Reason.

“Give it a try,” whispered the Heart. - Ken-Obi
