Blazer's the person that started all of this, he cut a deal and rolled.  Now time for the rest that were arrested to do the same. The reason the US Attorney is saying this is only the start is they expect those people arrested today to do whatever they can to save their ass, that means giving up the goods.

What jurisdiction do the FBI have to arrest these officials in Switzerland? And are they being charged with breaking American laws and therefore will be extradited?
Think this article may answer some of the questions.

Quote
Statement by FIFA President Blatter

This is a difficult time for football, the fans and for FIFA as an organisation. We understand the disappointment that many have expressed and I know that the events of today will impact the way in which many people view us.

As unfortunate as these events are, it should be clear that we welcome the actions and the investigations by the US and Swiss authorities and believe that it will help to reinforce measures that FIFA has already taken to root out any wrongdoing in football.

While there will be many who are frustrated with the pace of change, I would like to stress the actions that we have taken and will continue to take. In fact, today’s action by the Swiss Office of the Attorney General was set in motion when we submitted a dossier to the Swiss authorities late last year.

Let me be clear: such misconduct has no place in football and we will ensure that those who engage in it are put out of the game. Following the events of today, the independent Ethics Committee – which is in the midst of its own proceedings regarding the awarding of the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups -- took swift action to provisionally ban those individuals named by the authorities from any football-related activities at the national and international level. These actions are on top of similar steps that FIFA has taken over the past year to exclude any members who violate our own Code of Ethics.

We will continue to work with the relevant authorities and we will work vigorously within FIFA in order to root out any misconduct, to regain your trust and ensure that football worldwide is free from wrongdoing.

How are they going to stop them?  They are in the Schengen - so surely they would have to issue an alert on the Schengen system to stop them leaving Europe?

I've not been following FIFA related stuff - if I want to be depressed I usually just look in the Tory Bastards thread - so could anybody tell me if there is even anybody standing against Septic Bladder in this "election"?

Hope they bring the whole diseased, corrupt temple down on Blatter's head.  It's going to be biblical.

Funnily, that was Blatter's excuse.... Money in his account was just being held for someone else (I forget who)

Because we all do that don't we.

Here, could you mind this Ł100k for me?

Of course I can, nothing fishy about that at all.  I keep my money under the mattress rather than my own bank account too.

Maybe, wouldn't surprise me, remember the shenanigans of will or won't Ronaldo play in the 98 World Cup final, stems from Nike allegedly forcing the change on the team sheet for him to start after he wasn't selected, think Ronaldo took ill earlier that day or the day before that.

First thing that came to mind as well.

It seems there is a shit ton of stuff that was just swept under the carpet will appear. I think it is time to create a new governing body for football all together and if the Qataris & Russians want to have their world cup, they can have it between them.

Anyone see that documentary BBC done on them?

I bet there are plenty of English FA officials and British Government MP's who gladly love to see FIFA getting fucked over after denying their bid for the world cup. That was an absolutely mad documentary like
When overtaken by defeat, as you may be many times, remember than mans faith in his own ability is tested many times before he is crowned with final victory. Defeats are nothing more than challenges to keep trying.” – Napoleon Hill.
