I agree with some of the previous remarks about Black Museum - at times I felt it was too close to White Christmas but I understand the logic behind borrowing concepts from it, as it creates some kind of 'alternative-world-continuity with the genre.
Was the white woman who died also in Utopia, with a really, really strong Welsh accent by the way?
The simplicity of Metalhead really struck me - and fuckinell it was a bit dark in places eh? I presume Veronica Ball took her own life,
given one of the dogs' trackers appears to have embedded itsef too close to - or slap bang in - her corotid artery and she knew she was fucked and wouldn't have had enough time anyway to remove all of the trackers before the other dogs arrived.
Also, my dad's a total dick - he chose to watch it with me and almost ruined by passing critical comment like, "Oh that's so unrealistic!"
or asking dumb-as-fuck questions like, "Why's there a dead body on the bed?!" Shut up and let me watch it eh?!
Overall, I am glad that Black Museum had the chilling element of revenge within it, where the young black girl uses the technology against Rolo. Poetically just, I felt. I also believe these last two episodes saved the series for me - I was feeling a bit deflated after a couple of the previous ones, feeling them to be too tame. But those last two restored my expectations of Brooker's vision and 'dark'ness.
That said, the climax to this series didn't quite hit the spine-tinglingly-creepy levels of 'Hated In The Nation' and I've yet to see an episode of Black Mirror that tops it. I suspect I never will - and that's okay, I'll just keep watching it - and fantasise about Kelly Mc!
