I've had it all week aswell, its worse than bad Horse AIDS. Even my fingernails are aching at the moment. In fact you ache that much that it feels that it goes beyond just body aching and in fact every fibre of your whole being including your spirit and soul is aching.
I'll be glad when it fucks off.
Despite all my rage, I'm still just a rat in a cage.

My manflu is still going strong.

I am on my 5th day of feel shiverry, achy, weak and delicate ! ... now the runny nose is starting to kick in.

I have been taking 2 or them orange beechams tablets about every 5 hours from 8am to midnight.

Anyone elses cleared up?

Day 5 for me too. Think there is some slight relief today, but I said that Thursday and Friday was almost as bad as Wednesday, which was the worst day. Missed the works night out. Spent two days of leave, under the duvet watching home improvement shows at the arse end of Freeview. Wiped me out big time. Had it over New Year last year so, this is a welcome dose before Christmas!!

Plus:

I must add that my girlfriend has been a true champ. Run round making me drinks, Lemsips, breakfast, lunch, tea, the works. True legend these past 5 days. Total sympathy and looked after me real good.

What does one recommend for a sore throat? No other symptoms, just keep having to clear the back of my throat a lot, and it's quite sore.

Got some Lockets here, anything else I could have?

Lockets are probably your best bet. Maybe some orange juice, make sure it doesn't develope into something worse.

Well, as a person who suffer from this at least four times a year (Tonsillitis) my doctor recomended that, because it helps the bacterias to develope.

Just drink the tea without milk or hot lemonade, that will help a lot!

Exputex and Sudafed doing nothing for me. Doesn't help that I've been on the sauce since Friday. I can't decide where the Man Flu ends and the hangover begins.
I remember years ago doing the fart with your fingers pointed like a gun.

I did it to my brother, I had a dressing gown on.

Instead of farting I shat on the floor - my brother thought I was demented.

Got this by email at work last week i tried it and it works got a really good nights sleep and didn't wake up coughing once.

VICKS VAPO RUB INTERESTING

During a lecture on Essential Oils, they told us how the foot soles can absorb oils. Their example: Put garlic on your feet and within 20 minutes you can 'taste' it.

Some of us have used Vicks Vapo rub for years for everything from chapped lips to sore toes and many body parts in between. But I've never heard of this. And don't laugh, it works 100% of the time, although the scientists who discovered it aren't sure why. To stop night time coughing in a child (or adult as we found out personally), put Vicks Vapo rub generously on the bottom of the feet at bedtime, then cover with socks. Even persistent, heavy, deep coughing will stop in about 5 minutes and stay stopped for many, many hours of relief. Works 100% of the time and is more effective in children than even very strong prescription cough medicines. In addition it is extremely soothing and comforting and they will sleep soundly..

Just happened to tune in A.M. Radio and picked up this guy talking about why cough medicines in kids often do more harm than good, due to the chemica l makeup of these strong drugs so, I listened. It was a surprise finding and found to be more effective than prescribed medicines for children at bedtime, in addition to have a soothing and calming effect on sick children who then went on to sleep soundly.

My wife tried it on herself when she had a very deep constant and persistent cough a few weeks ago and it worked 100%! She said that it felt like a warm blanket had enveloped her, coughing stopped in a few minutes and believe me, this was a deep, ( incredibly annoying!) every few seconds uncontrollable cough, and she slept cough-free for ho ur s every night that she used it.

If you have grandchildren, pass this on. If you end up sick, try it yourself and you will be absolutely amazed at how it works.

DON'T SHUN THIS ONE.. TRY IT THE NEXT TIME YOU GET A BAD COLD.

Thanks for that, will give it a go tonite.

Thought I just had a minor cold the other night, I'm not soft enough to avoid going out on just a cough, how wrong I was. The next morning I woke up feeling the worse I ever have in my life, my first ever case of 'man flu' I wouldn't wish it on my worse enemy, couldn't sleep, had cold shivers so I'd wrap up more which quickly turned into hot flushes so I'd kick off my covers and this vicious cycle goes on for hours. Coughing my guts up, can't even stand up for too long cause I get disorientated and feel like I'm going to faint.

Shoot me.

Really suffering. It's proper flu though, aching from head to toe, spent the last two nights being sick. I think this is the first time I've had proper flu and I feel like I'm on Death's doorstep.

Everytime I try to drink I throw it back up, I've manged to hold down a mouthful of warm Lucozade in two days.

Woke up with it this morning. Decided to struggle on into work but feeling shitter and might jib it tomorrow. The only problem is, to take the day off we have to get a sick note from the doctor, and to get one for a cold you need to get a doctor here in a good mood...wish me luck.

I reckon you've got that weekly man flu, where you should be off the whole week!

Your doctor will give you a sick note even during the self certification week of illness?
