I went on 90 minutes last night. Still a bit raw from staying behind at City 11 days ago when all but 5 players  went straight down the tunnel. Our end really got behind the team when they got the opener last night. I don't think you can point the finger at our support last night.

I wasn't there, but I agree. Our support sounded great last night, particularly after we conceded. Leicester just sounded like the usual small-club shite when they could actually be bothered singing at all. Well in to everyone who stuck it out to the death against City and that lot last night.

It was good, can understand those that did one on 80 minutes, a sense of the inevitable prevailed,  we should have been 5-0 up at half time but once again we through it away.  Performance and tactics are topics for another thread but it is symptomatic that our ongoing problems on the pitch precipitated the mass exit.

If the club had any idea they would offer all the loyal way fans an option to sit together where they want inside Anfield.

I'd love this to happen. Member sales you just get a ticket in the kop not a given seat.

Half the turnstile's are for people who want to sit and watch. Other half for people who want to create and atmosphere. Go in with your mates and get allocated tickets next to each other as you go in

a lot of away support don't go to the homes at all any more but I know what you mean, maybe they would if they could sit (stand?) together

Quite right to oppose vociferously, awful time for a game and travelling fans.
However with the modern game, and TV/money calling the tune, sadly if Sky want it at 4pm on Christmas Eve I expect that's when it'll be played.

Don't understand the problem.  We've played 3pm Christmas Eve loads of times.  Playing Christmas Eve has never been a problem when it's fell on a Saturday.  Don't see the difference playing it on a Sunday.

Train services are worse on Sundays for one.

Edit, found the SoS statement which alludes to that too

“[We] have been made aware that Liverpool’s away fixture against Arsenal, scheduled for 23 December, is being considered for a move to Christmas Eve.

“It is our understanding that Arsenal have been asked if they can staff such a fixture and the Metropolitan police have been approached for their view. Changing the date to Christmas Eve would have untold impact on staff and supporters, particularly away fans. Depending on kick-off time, and depleted public transport links, the majority of travelling Liverpool supporters would not get home until the early hours of Christmas morning.

“SOS are contacting relevant personnel to put forward our case that it is completely unacceptable to expect fans to travel for a match at this time. The suggestion of such a change again shows zero regard for supporters – much like the corresponding fixture where Euston station was closed over Bank Holiday weekend.”

Not sure when you are talking about but we haven't played later than Dec 23rd since 1992. Personally I would ban games on Xmas Eve and NYE due to all the problems it causes, as SoS list above, but given we played on NYE last year....

Used to play back to back games on Christmas Day and Boxing Day at one time.  So we'd have been away to Arsenal Christmas Day, then play them at home on Boxing Day.

If Christmas Eve was a Saturday, then they'd play three days in a row.  Everton got over 200,000 once over a Christmas weekend.

It'll have been a long time since we'd have played Christmas Eve because we still traditionally play Boxing Day, and todays players can't cope with two matches in three days.

I still remember they're being a full football fixture list if Christmas Eve was a Saturday.  I think in Scotland they still play Christmas Eve.

The only reason not to go to a match on Christmas Eve is if you've got kids.  That'd rule out 90% of our current home support, but at one time it'd be an end full of teenagers with nothing else to do (before they go out on the piss).

Or if you can't get back!? I'd be fine if we were at home but the other end of the country is beyond a joke, and hence just as bad if we were at home to Arsenal IMO

Klopp has even chimed in now! He sounds a bit surprised

“I really cannot imagine that anyone wants to watch football on that night,” said the Liverpool manager. “I really think it is no problem for people to be very concentrated on important nights on something other than football.

“If the supporters want to see a game on Christmas Eve then probably the television broadcaster will find a way to deliver it and obviously they’ve found a way already – I didn’t know before the date was possible but now I know it is possible.

“If we play on December 24 I am not sure we can fight against it. Sky has to make a decision if they really want to do this, if they really want to bring supporters onto the streets that night, if they really want to bring all the people who work for television away from home that night. Maybe we will play without the media - that would be nice, just one camera.”
