Eerily similar to Jared Goff's improvement this year. Almost as if - and this might shock you - that Jeff Fisher was a very bad football coach.

Yep Jeff Fisher an awful coach i'll be amazed if he gets another NFL coaching job, haven't seen last years NFL hard knocks with the LA Rams, but Jeff Fisher comes across quite embarrassing.

And that might be a big miss by Bryant. Vikings are really dogging out these matches against the other big NFC rivals.
They froze the Vikings defense which was quite impressive. To me, they look like the best team out there.

Enjoyed that.

The Broncos have lost their last 8. The Chiefs have gone 1-6 in their last 7 with their one win being against... the Broncos. The AFC West has turned into a shitshow.

Saints-Panthers should be a great watch. Good to see Saints back as a play-off team, they've been missed.

Kamara is some talent. Saints really nailed this year's draft and fixed their team for years to come.

that was a really bad no-call in the saints/panthers game but it won't affect the result. saints just too good.

a QB as good as brees with a running game is a scary prospect for anyone

Maybe the group, led by your leadership, will see these drafts as PR functions and brilliant use of humor

I'd be very surprised if GM Jerry Reese survives into next year too.  Edit: Rapaport says he's gone too.

Gronk gets a one game ban for his dumbassery.  Proper order.
For some reason he wants to appeal it, rather than taking a week off vs Miami this week to prepare for the Steelers game next week that'll decide home field advantage for the playoffs.

A one game suspension is right. It was stupid but didn't endanger anyone, just lost his head after not getting a blatant call

Hit a guy full force in the back of the head while the guy was lying defenseless on the ground. Yup, no danger there.

Goodell got a 6 year extension as Commish. There til March 2024.

He'll end up making about three times as much from his NFL career than Tom Brady.

Gronk should have got more than a 1 game ban, shows up the NFL for lack of consistency on punishments, that Gronk get the same ban for hitting a defenceless player on the head from behind, as Smith-Schuster does for his hit on Burfict.

Looking at the highlights this morning, that seemed like a weird game last night.  Matt Ryan seemed determined to throw passes to Saints defensive backs, and got a win thanks to a great pick on an iffy Brees pass.  The South is going to go to the last games.
The result also means that it's going to be extremely difficult for the Packers to make a WC, even with Rodgers back.

I see the Browns fired Sashi Brown & hired John Dorsey as GM. Could be a good move, Dorsey seemed to do well at the Chiefs, but can anyone do well in Cleveland? Surely got to be the end for Hue Jackson too?

No it wasn't

It was stupid but didn't endanger anyone

Apart from the fella lying defenceless on the floor

Just lost his head after not getting a blatant call

Not getting a blatant call is no excuse for basically attacking someone when the play is dead.

They should have thrown the book at Gronk. The game had stopped. He made a conscious decision to do what he did. It's not like a split second decision on the field when the ball was alive.

I suspect the NFL don't want to be seen as a bunch of fannies and therefore didn't make an example of him. Any other sport he'd be looking at more than a 1 game ban for the same offence.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

No chance the league was going to make an example of a Pats player after the whole Deflategate saga. Fully agree that Gronkowski acted like an utter c*nt and that they should've thrown the book at him. Same for Kiko Alonso on Flacco or Trevathan on Adams earlier in the year. Banned for the rest of the season or something to that extent.
The game itself is prone to unavoidable injuries, deliberately dirty or gratuitous hits, especially targeting the head, should not be tolerated in any way and punished with the maximum severity.

Anyway, "thanks" to the above poster for highlighting how much the fans and the culture around the sport are a big part of the problem.

This is a brilliant snow game in Buffalo. The Bills are apparently leading, but who the hell knows what's going on really?
Panthers pass rush have come out to play today and Vikings missing their rookie centre Elflein. No idea how Sky picked the Raiders game over this one.
