I'll second that, both this and Predestination are available on Netflix. Preferred Coherence of the two
Same here.

Definitely don't read up anything about the film though. It's one of those where you're best going in not knowing anything.

Looking for a good thriller to watch tonight. Might go with The Stanford Prison Experiment.

Have you seen Children of Men? Watched it again for the first time in a while and is still a great film.

Watched Buzzard last night - very odd movie indeed.

Paranoia forces small-time scam artist Marty to flee his hometown and hide out in a dangerous Detroit. With nothing but a pocket full of bogus checks, his Power Glove, and a bad temper, the horror metal slacker lashes out.

The Revenant is a very impressive film. I agree totally with all those who say it has to be watched on the big screen, however. The cinematography is wonderful and has many moments of awesome and staggering beauty. The plot is rather thin and although it's a long film, I never felt bored or unengaged once. Reminded me of another frozen 'western' from the early 90s, Black Robe. In fact, it made me want to go back and watch that film to see if it still stands up nearly 25 years later.

Next up Spotlight.

Watched it (The Revenant) on the big screen last night - fantastic. From the first shot to the last, it had me totally hooked. A very well made film that basically casts nature in the starring role.

I like it! Never thought about it before as a sub-genre.

And why have I never come across Ravenous? Cheers! Another to add to the list.

Jeremiah Johnson & McCabe & Mrs. Miller are two of my fav westerns (frozen or otherwise) of all time.

Not seen it, but Hateful 8, judging by the promo materials, looks to be snowbound too.

White Buffalo
Il Grande Silenzio

Excellent. More added to the ever-expanding to watch list.  ;)

watched Attack the Block, pretty decent low budget flick. looked good, not a lot of violence but a few choice scenes that were good. most importantly it actually got to me, i got a bit scared of the monsters at times. nothing special but fun. Boyega and lead actress are decent.

Went to a screening of Pride & Prejudice & Zombies last night. I hoped that is would be good but kinda expected it to be naff (possibly not staying to the end) but I was more than pleasantly surprised. It was brilliant and pretty much exactly what it says on the tin! Good humoured, sumptuous and opulent sets/settings, laced with over the top action, romantic intrigue and solid performances from everyone involved (I thought Matt Smith was particularly good). Definitely check it out if you can!

When I got back I watched The Happy Dinosaur and thought that was great too. The visuals are stunning, every new Pixar seems to raise the bar from the last and this was no exception in that regard. Good story, lovely characters and genuinely heart warming. I had a couple of small gripes and it won't go down as a Pixar classic but it's a rather pleasant way to waste away 90 minutes 8)

Saw Predestination - very good film enjoyed it (Although I sussed out all of the ending way before time - it was still a good film). My missus usually can't keep track of Time Travel films, but she liked this one.

Also saw "The Interview" - well. OK. What can you say? It's a bit mad, Ted.

Meh.

I haven't seen the film yet, but I can safely say, people are idiots.

Luckily, Joel and Ethan have produced enough quality in their careers that box office bombs generally means nothing for their next project or five. They'll just keep kicking butt. The box office can take it or leave it.

speaking of time travel movies (we were..weren't we?)  - does anyone know name of the flick that was set on a cruise ship? - the protagonists get caught up in a storm while fishing and then go into a mindfucking timeloop / sort of like groundhog day with murder/mayhem.......absolute cracking little horror/time travel movie ....want to watch it again but rather ironically cant recall the name of it.. 8)

Given my general dislike of the Coen brothers' films, my and the missus are quite looking forward to the Caesar one. Looks pretty good.

For once their unlikely dialogue could well have a place (In hyped-up over-the-top Hollywood Moguls, Producers, Stars, Agents and the Rest)

Will deffo give it a watch.

Originally said that I doubt Di Caprio will get it - I thought Cranston was nailed on; Trumbo was excellent and I still think Cranston will nail it on the back of Trumbo alone. However, Di Caprio seems to be getting a lot of press and is really amping up the PR - his speech at the Golden Globes was a little divisive.

Why do you think it was divisive? I thought it was good.

I can't stand that Ryan Reynolds. I can't stomach him. Can't tolerate him. He is the lactose in my lactose intolerance - he gives me the shits. I have been allergic to him since he made his breakthrough in the sitcom "2 c*nts a Girl and a Pizza Place." You could open a door with him, he's such a knob.

Spotted that one laaa, will catch it over the weekend :wave

Even though the premise of The Forest was lovely and creepy, in the end it was very generic and run of the mill. Not terrible but a bit of a disappointment all told.

I'm with you, mate. He's got one of those very punchable faces. He just has the appearance of one of those annoyingly dumb, handsome, cocky, All American (I'm aware he's Canadian) assholes who by all rights should have peaked in high school, but somehow continued to be successful and in fact, get to marry Scarlett Johansson. It doesn't get much worse.
