West Ham midfielder Sebastian Lletget has welcomed the Hammers' move for Joe Cole.

He tweets: "Training with my man Joe Cole today, top player, looking forward to it #whufc #coyi."

Interesting.

I'm gutted it didnt work out for him. Injuries have really hindered his career. The lad was and still has some great talent and it just wasnt to be here. I was very excited when we signed him as I thought it would rejuvenate him but it just didnt happen.

Reckon he'll do alright back down in London again.

Being reported as having medical today.
13mins - Bournemouth have gone home. Utd kicked off anyway. Still 0-0 as Smalling passes it back to De Gea.

Never quite worked out here, but never slagged the club off as far as I'm aware.

Seems a decent bloke, good luck to him.

Madness, only in football ey... Seems like a decent guy though and can't blame him for wanting what's entitled to him, was the clubs fault for giving him such a stupid contract, all the best Joe.

honestly hope he does well. sure he hasn't looked too good for us when he has played, but when you're at his age it's always going to be difficult to show your true self in brief cameos every couple of weeks. right decision for all parties, best of luck to him

Depends on how much we are paying the agents to set up the deal and whether Cole is getting a loyalty payment for not asking for a move.

Unfortunately, turned out that he was a very expensive mistake.

Wish him good luck though, as he has always acted professionally and not had a bad word to say about us as far as i'm aware.

Hope he finishes his career well and gets some pride back.

I don't think of him as a "decent lad", who was "professional" and for whom it "just didn't work out". I didn't fancy him when we signed him and the sight of him with his hands on his knees, blowing hard after ten minutes of a game made me somewhat annoyed. Perhaps he is a good guy but taking 90k a week off us followed by a 3m payoff for the privilege of not staying fit is hard to swallow.

Totally agree.

Someone earlier said that he was "always professional". If by that you mean turning up for training every day and picking up his cheque at the end of the week then definitely. If you mean he did anything beyond the absolute minimum expectation then I don't think he did.

I'm not the type to boo an ex player but when he comes back he won't get a round of applause from me.

It's the club to blame. You can't just offer people contracts and then break those contracts without paying any price.

Good luck to Joe. Was a poor signing in the first place
