Fabinho for Keita and Henderson needs to be taking the RM position. They've completely nullified Alexander-Arnold by sticking Lamar 1v1 high up the pitch. Henderson forming the triangle with him and Salah will overload that side and bring Salah into the game.

surprised fab didn't start but when you go 2 goals up it's hard to criticise the starting 11

pretty sure fab comes on for the second half, not sure for who depending on how klopp wants to tweak things, more defensive then keita off but if you wanna keep the threat, probably milner

really love to win this game for obvious reasons but esp since atletico seems to have our number if im being frank

You can slate Keita for the non-tackles on Lemar and Felix but they're still carving us open pretty easily and we were quite clearly 2nd best for the last 15 minutes at least.  For me I'd actually say Van Dijk and Hendo have been the biggest culprits for the loss in control of the game.  It's At. Madrid though, they're not jokers.  We can at least get out of here with a point but yeah I'd say Fabinho needs to get on.  For me it'd be Hendo but I'd guess Keita or Milner.

Good for the neutral I guess, but we were cruising at 2-0 then got sloppy. Great volley from Keita but he’s put in two half arsed efforts at closing down that led to their goals. We’ve got our offside trap wrong time and again.

Frustrating, we had it all under control. Jekyll and Hyde from Keita, brilliant goal then costs us 2. We need Fabinho in the middle I feel.

Gonna miss a bunch of games because of Brazil, yet we can't play without him (unless it's a piss poor opponent like Watford).

Not sure how we’ve gone from the perfect start to thanking Alisson for keeping us level. Lost all composure after they got one back and been outbattled and almost in shock since.

Really need to show our metal at the start of the second and try to take the sting out of them before going for a winner. If we continue to be open and don’t compete for everything we won’t get anything and we really should after the start we made

Good to watch, but being out worked in the middle, leaving gaps at the back bigger than a barn door.

Great goal from Naby, horrible effort for their 2nd

Hate these c*nts.

Their first was offside. How it cant get ruled out is beyond me. They then got in our heads by kicking the fuck out of Mane and it started from there. Trent, Matip and Kieta: can't sort out who was worse. Everything they did came down our right side.

Not sure if Atletico lull you into a false sense of security by doing nothing for most of the game so it slows down our players mentally. Bizarre

Ha ha - as bizarre as it sounds you kind of have a point here. We're almost at our most vulnerable as soon as we think we're comfortable.

This is AC Milan, Brentford, Man City all over again.

We look so soft and vulnerable to the merest of threatening attacks.

This is Atletico’s bread and butter. I don’t think anyone should be surprised.

Just like the Brentford game, we look sluggish at the back. Too passive.
That Simone clown really makes my blood boil. God, his touchline antics are so childish and cringe.
Need to pick up the pace on attack. We're letting them get into shape too easily on the turnover.
Level at halftime isn't a disaster, but the manner of how we let a 2 goal lead go is a worry.

Maybe in the last 20 minutes of tonight's half, but our defense has not been shocking all season.

It hasn't?  AC Milan, Man City, Brentford mustn't have passed through your selective viewing. hahaha

Bit of a throwback to early Klopp campaigns. Chaotic.

Wouldn’t mind a draw here at all. This lot are a nightmare at times and we’re in a position in the group where a point suits us fine.
A draw would be a decent result but I'd love to beat them just to sicken Simeone the twat. And the bellend on the megaphone.

Keita has been good going forward but really poor off the ball. Matip and Van Dijk all over the place.

Should have brought in Joe and Konate for this.

That was very frustrating. Went from Atletico looking like they might capitulate to the exact opposite thing happening. Without Fab the midfield does not function vs a side with quality in the middle. Where the hell was Henderson for the 2nd goal? Not in front of the the defense.

So disappointing to go from complete control of the game to looking like we will concede at any moment. Half time will allow us to reset and go again. All to play for in the second half. Games like this is why we love and enjoy CL football. We just don't make it easy for ourselves

Enjoyable game.....

For the neutral

Decent start but after we scored our 2nd we stopped playing.

They have great players though and are always dangerous on the counter. Think Fab comes on at halftime, saw him warming up on the touchline just before the break. Probably Naby who comes off but Hendo and Milner haven't been great either

We got this though redmen

Ffs, wonder goal from naby and then 2 poor defensive mistakes from him, plus from others, led to their 2 goals. Thought their first could have been offside with Lemar coming across Matip. We’ve been shite from 20 mins onwards. They look like scoring each time they go forward.

Fab needs to come on for naby.

So you mean there was some kind of warning that we could have perceived in our preparation here?

Well that kinda makes it worse then, no?

Chaotic is the word I'd use. We go from looking clinical, dominant even in posession to thinking the ball is a hand grenade as soon as someone comes after us. I don't really know how we shake ourselves out of this at this point because it's definitely a pattern.

Yes i expected to see Keita get blamed willy nilly but the backline and offside trap is the biggest issue. They are literally never in a line, every chance has come because of someone breaking that offside trap. Fabinho coming on isn't going to stop Matip, VVD or Robertson playing someone onside .

Good game for the neutral, both sides fast and highly technical at times going forward but both look all over the place defensively. Head in hands moment watching Naby for that first, he really struggles at the highest level.

They are a good side, let's not forget that. That 2nd goal is an amazing piece of skill, but we should have defended better. Likewise the 1st goal too, when Keita gets done.

Don't think we're playing too bad, but our attacks fell apart after 20 minutes and our midfield is like butter and we get done on the counter attack pretty much every time.

Ironically going 0-2 didn’t do us any favours, sat back, relaxed and there you go.  Keita really needs to better. So much talent, but lacking in other areas.  Definitely take a draw.

Fabinho and Jota for Keita and Bobby.

A draw wouldn't be a disaster we'd still be favourites to qualify. But for some reason they are desperate to win it, now, this very minute instead of managing stages of the game.

Good point from BT sport, the jump from Lemar stops Matip really stretching to stop the shot
