Pavel Nedved belongs here surely?

Shout for Andrei Arshavin.  He was magical for about two years, up to our 4-4 in 2009 sadly.

Nedved would be more of a lateral/wide player

Stankovic as well.

Fekir imo shouldn't be up there at all. Hasn't done enough imo.

Stankovic is a curious one. He could play wide and as an 8, and I've got him as a wide player. Which was his predominant one, any idea?

Fekir, he had 2 phenomenal scoring seasons from his position, and one more good season. His talent is obvious and his role (what he does) is very rare in football. Think Bobby. I can wait a couple of years to see and put him in, but he's not been inferior to Alli (who has had his own drop of form) in any way.

You can argue that Alli has done it at a higher level than Fekir. [although I see Fekir as a better player]

Stankovic played the best part of his years as an a 8, particularly at Inter.

Stankovic is as a CM (I've put him at a similar level I was about to put him as a wide player).

Motta is in as a DM.

Okay, so here's

Lateral Midfielders

Luís Figo
Pavel Nedvěd
Arjen Robben
Ryan Giggs
Franck Ribéry

Ángel di María
David Beckham
Robert Pirčs
Raheem Sterling

Ivan Perišić
Zé Roberto
Marc Overmars
Fredrik Ljungberg
Mauro Camoranesi

Riyad Mahrez
Steve McManaman
Joaquín Sánchez
James Milner

Andrei Kanchelskis
Leroy Sané
Juan Arango
Shunsuke Nakamura
Karel Poborský

Willian
Jefferson Farfán
Pedro
Nolberto Solano

Need help here. Since the game has left players playing a pure wide role aside, it looks like I've forgotten how the good ones look like. Need more names and to validate some of the names here. Mane, I have him as Support Striker.

Much as he was a useless lard arse when he played for us, think you’d have to get Joe Cole in one of the attacking/lateral midfield positions
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

 ;D

It'd be much better for the good of us and RAWK, if he's left alone don't you think  ;)

On a serious note, his early Chelsea days showed so much promise and then he fell off a cliff.

If he fell off a cliff he’d have ended up in Fiji!

Was good though yeah, was excited when we signed him

Oh, that midfield was heaven. And let's not forget, they had Kaka in front of those three supplying Crespo/Inzaghi and Shevchenko. Insanely good side. I'm not even getting to the defense yet. As you say, only Barca's midfield of those days could compete with that one. I remember Milan's tie against Man United (I think it was Semis) a few years later and in the 2nd leg, Kaka absolutely decimated them.

Ha ha loved that :) Alas we met them in the final that year and couldn't get through :(

Kaka was a sensational player for them though, loved watching him. Definitely platinum standard.

In terms of talent alone, he was indeed of platinum standard. At one point, he was the best player in the world. Before Messi & Ronaldo, and in 2000+ years, there were very few who could say was the best player at some point of time, all massive names and Kaka was one of them. The problem with him was he faded at a time when he should've still have been at his peak. Real Madrid move didn't do him any favours.

Sahin?

Another player who moved too early to Madrid and lost his career. too short a peak imo. The likes of Hummels, Lewa, Gundogan and Reus from that side have kicked on while Sahin and Kagawa regressed.

I did keep him on tabs, but his peak was done in the 90s as far as I researched. Didn't carry on much in 2000s.

Yeah. It kind of meant he faded away but yeah, terrific player.
