He always plays better comming off the bench then when he starts

He is better off the bench because he brings unpredictability. He doesn't really have 90 minutes in his leg at high tempo and physically he can get shrugged off, so its easier to play against him when he starts. When he comes off as a sub, he's an absolute wildcard because he plays in pockets and he gets space against tired legs to pick a pass.

He released Mane in the last attack of the game. Mane fumbled his shot but absolute credit to Shaq for picking that pass.

If he was stronger off the ball I still think he could do a job for us in the middle. Technically he is top notch

Me too, but if he hardly gets a game he should really find another club as he is far too good to be bench warmer.

Read that we’re not really wanting to sell him, but should the right offer (nicely bolstered by his Euros performances) come in…

Exactly how I think of him. Fantastically talented and experienced squad player. Just needs to apply it a wee bit more in a LFC shirt when given the opportunity.

I think it was something to do with fact that Shaqiri and another Swiss player missed penalties recently.

He is a very talented player but is so injury prone that along with Keita, and Ox probably have permanent tables at the physio. His euro performances will have helped massively and I hope we get a good offer for him.
I’ve plenty links to the clubs playing and backroom staff as many on here know thank you very much. Fair enough, I admire your optimism. But you’re absolute ostriches if you think this squad, even with 2 or 3 new, “cut price” players with potential get us anywhere close

Shaq is one of those players where I have to admit I just don't know anywhere near the same amount about football as Klopp.

I've always thought he looks like a decent player. Very dangerous and always seem to have the potential to make things happen, be that a defence splitting pass, a dribble to break through the lines or a long range shot.

Injuries aside, I could never really understand why he didn't get more of a chance but Klopp clearly doesn't trust him enough to be a regular.

What regular spot would he get? Out wide ahead of Salah or Mane? Or in midfield ahead of which player? The problem with him is that his best position is as a number 10, and it's not something we often play with. If you play him in midfield, regularly, you're keeping out midfielders who are more tactically disciplined and better defensively than he is, which is huge for us given the role our midfielders play when it comes to covering our fullbacks.

I think he would have featured more in rotation in certain games particularly against bus parking sides, but he has been consistently injured for most of his time here.

His absence in early 2019 will always baffle me. Not sure if there was stuff going on behind the scenes or there was injury problems, but it's something I often think about. It's funny really, because there was only a handful of league games we dropped points in, so I'm not saying he'd have changed every game, and of course we won the Champions League anyway. I don't even remember if he played in any other of the knockout games bar Barcelona at home of course, in which he was outstanding. Really strange one, and I'd have liked to have seen him more in the title winning season.

same for last season when we were struggling with Jota, Keita, Henderson all out injured . I was surprised that he was often not available for us.
