So I'm in the 'pick a uni' time of life.

I'm sure you're aware you get to pick five, and UEA and Birmingham are my 'If I do better than predicted' choices.

Was looking at Goldsmiths earlier, reckon I could get in with my predicted grades, but was wondering if it was any good, or if anyone has been, looked at it etc... =)

Which brings me to why I'm posting; can anyone direct me to a decent website that has practice numerical tests relevant to the banking/financial sector? Could really use the practice to be honest.
There are some practice tests on the links at  http://timelessthinking.blogspot.com/2007/11/online-tests-and-interviews.html
To many people have discovered "Football Manager" and now they all think they are Kenny but alas so many end up as Roy

Had my interview today; was quite exciting walking around central London and seeing the hustle and bustle going on, with old buildings like St Paul's Cathedral as the backdrop. Even though it stank of shit in places (not piss... shit), I liked it.

Interview went well actually, but the numerical test I had didn't go as well I don't think... really hope it won't fuck my chances up (reckon it might just...) getting in on this programme.

Funny thing, at the end of the interview when I got asked if I had any questions, one of the ones I asked was "how do you think I'd fit into the culture here?"- sort of a roundabout way of getting them to highlight any concerns he had of me so I could put him right  ;D he gave me the reasons why he thought I would fit in, and then came to a reservation of his; although I was being professional, I didn't show enough character. Then he explained what roles he thought I'd do well in, and others I wouldn't do so well in, going by the interview- so I asked if I could "throw one into the hat"- he said sure, then I started chatting to him about football whilst opening up a bit more. He was a Chelsea fan  :butt, still, after I told him I was a Liverpool fan, I said I wanted them to win against Man U in the Final... went on for another few minutes of conversation. Hopefully I made him think about that side of me as well.

Ahhh if it was Liverpool it'd be easy to understand why your results were up early. They're notorious for that!

Got me result for me Corporate Law exam some how managed to pass, gave me self about 20% chance of passing after only going to couple lectures and handful of tutes and not having the textbook. It was an open book exam to which makes this even more astonishing as I was pretty much making up new acts.

Fuckin over the moon, going to buy a lotto ticket.

Need some advice from uni students or anyone with knowledge of uni. I'm likely to miss my results day (completely forgot about it - my mistake, I know) due to some time away. I've been told my results can be emailed, texted or posted home to me - would go for the email as i'd have a laptop with me.

Basically, if I don't get the results I need, how would I go about trying to negotiate with my firm and insurance unis? My Head of Sixth Form is on hand on results day to go through that with people but obviously I won't be there. Any ideas?

Cheers :wave

By firm and insurance unis i guessing you mean your first and 2nd choice yah?

Well if you dont get the grades you want you can still get into your first choice. Firstly it cant be that far off so if they wanted 3 A's and you got CCC, then no chance. If you are a bit off, like maybe 2 or 3 grades then firstly what I would do is ring the uni straight away. Although they all are part of clearing, the best thing to do is speak to them directly. After you have spoken to them, speak to clearing as well.

The key is getting early. A friend of mine got ACC, when she needed ABB. She rang Birmingham uni direct (her first choice) after the result and they got her in. They had a number of 'clearing' vacancies.

Hope that helps.

Cheers. I need AAB and I don't think i'll get that. When you say to speak to the uni directly, do you mean the admissions deparment or the individual departments?

Which University is that, if you don't mind my asking? Just that I know a few people who've had experiences of this type with different Uni's...

Warwick. My insurance is Exeter - same offer. My Head of Sixth form said that Warwick were unlikely to let me in but Exeter should be more flexible if I don't get the grades.

Same kind of area then. You like it at Warwick?

Yah, the uni is awesome, although Warwick can sometimes be a bit dead. Cov isnt really the greatest of spots either, some of the music places are good though. Uni itself though is great.

I know someone who goes Exeter too. Its also quite good. And if you love a bit of posh, then thats the place for you.
