The LiverpoolFC Forum > General Football and Sport

Welcome to the Gen Football and Sport board - Submit your sporting links here

(1/10) > >>

Armin:
Thought we'd try a similar thread to that on the Arts & Cuture board.

The idea, ground breaking in it's audacity is simple.  You choose your favourite sports based websites and post a link to them in this thread.

Eventually all the links get amalgamated into one big guide to other sporting websites.

So you only have to remember two things:

1.  Post a brief description of what the site is and why it's ace n' great.

2.  If you're posting a number of sites please separate them into categories:

General

http://news.google.co.uk/?ned=uk&topic=s - links to hundreds of articles about whats in the news sport-wise - find it very useful that they group all related articles together so you can compare. Always read all the LFC reports from this the next day

http://www.oddschecker.com - odds comparison site - they compare and check best prices for you on the selected market. Do the hard graft for you like (Allfunkdup)

www.thedailypunt.com/forum - good betting site with write ups on most European and World Wide leagues.(Allfunkdup)

Athletics

http://www.runnersworld.com (US based)(Shankstheman)

http://www.runnersworld.co.uk (UK based) (Shankstheman)

Football

http://64.77.87.5/sport/ -Shows what matches will be broadcasted with times and on what channels.
Very useful.(Ron)

www.football365.com - Good place for footie news and goss and all that stuff, also home to a very good letters page, and the always amusing 'Mediawatch' section. Nice irreverent take on things, usually, and some good regular columnists
I go to:

www.football365.fr - for those that can read French and also

www.lequipe.fr - both good to see an 'outsiders' view of what's going on sometimes.  was great reading it end of May!  For those that don't know, L'equipe is a daily sports paper in France which is fantastic, I wish they had the same thing here.  It doesn't just do footie, its good for pretty much any sport (perhaps apart from cricket!!) with all the Liverpool players who are French there are often interviews with them on these sites. (Diggers Suit)

www.physioroom.com - The PhysioRoom website - sports injuries:- Lists warming up and cooling down exercises, along with general injury prevention info, exercise and rehab, therapies, diet, massage, taping and strapping of injuries, etc.  Also has an online shop. Clear and concise info throughout - and includes illustrations and photographs.(oojason)

http://www.fixtures365.com/ - does exactly what it says on the tin... (Eternal Pessimist)

http://www.ussoccerplayers.com - a) because there is a crying need for informed commentary about the Yanks on this forum. b) with one exception, the writers on this site write good stuff. (Afc Turkish)

http://www.soccerbase.com/teams.sd - Facts about the PL. Head to head, player stats etc. (Gnurglan)

http://www.fussballdaten.de/- Football facts (in German) (Gnurglan)

http://www.lfp.es/ - About La Liga (Gnurglan)

http://www.francefootball.fr/ - Legendary French semi-weekly footy mag, which also awards the prestigious Ballon d'Or every year. Nice takes on the big European leagues. Site is in French. (Exec5)

http://www.football.mitoo.co.uk - Database for feeder leagues and sunday leagues.  Ongoing project to build it up. (Allyouneedisrush)

http://www.tonykempster.co.uk - For all senior English leagues. Both full of information, could be layed out better but very useful... (Allyouneedisrush)

www.marca.es - Spains most popular Sports Newspaper, printed in Madrid so most of the news focusses on them. My favourite Spanish website (obviously helps if you can read Rafa's mother tongue!) (Gavref)

www.sport.es However, if you're more Barcelona orientated, give this a go - also in Spanish (this one is printed in Barca, in both Catalan and Spanish)(Gavref)

http://www.uglyfootballers.co.uk - Not strictly football, but wortha look for sure.

http://www.fl-tv.cc/reg.htm - Can't get to the game, aint got Sky? Try this - register first  and then follow the subsequent links.(Williebob)

www.soccerbot.com - good for footy stats, top scorers, form tables etc - has most ww leagues and cup competitions (Allfunktup)

http://www.historicalkits.co.uk - The most detailed and comprehensive graphic archive of football kits available

Motor Racing

www.f1.com  - The official F1 site. Very informative and constantly updated. Excellent. (Rob76)

www.f1-live.com - As good as f1.com and even though the official site is a very good site, I still use this one as my regular.(Rob76)
