You can run homebrew and 'backups' on a PSP with firmware 1.50 or 1.0.  Currently all PSPs sold in the UK come with at least version 2.0.  Fortunately it's quite easy to downgrade your firmware from 2.0 to 1.5 and there's a wealth of emulators and utilites out there that you can run.  If you got a firmware higher than 2.0 then you're buggered for the moment but someone will figure out a work around soon.

Have been playing my erm... backups for a while off the memory card now. Got one shipped over from the states when it was released over there..... then found out I was one of those luckily enough to have firmware 1.5 as Nanor mentioned  ;)

IF you got 1.5 there's a programme called UMD emulator, lets you play a backed up ISO while making the UMD drive think it's the UMD in your PSP... great bit off software!! Hats off to the creators  :wave

Good place to find out what you need to know is http://www.psp-hacks.com/

I wish I'd be a bit more spontaneous. Sometimes I feel like going out, stealing a traffic cone, putting it on my head and saying, "Look at me, I'm a giant witch."
