Like many of you, I like Kewell, and I think he's the one can can turn a match on his own. His ability alone, when fit and proper, would worth half the price to watch (the other half being taken up by a certain Spanniard, Mr. X. Alonso), yes he is a victim of his own ability, that being good, he often would be asked to play even when he's not 100% fit.
Remember when Rafa said that even a 60% fit Kewell would benefit the team? That is what he was suffering from, everyone expects him to play, even with him being half fit. Had he played, he might suffer more and be out for longer. Having being a serious sports person myself (not football), I understand that while playing through injury might be benificial to the team, but in the long run, it WILL have negaative effects on the team and himself.
And I am deeply dissapointed at those who booed him after he had to come off, many would say that they would stay on with a broken leg, but then again, we were in the final to WIN it, not to make up the numbers, he obviously understood that and asked to come off, FOR THE TEAM. It also show that despite being class as the best supporters in the WORLD, we still have our dark side, we'll still boo our own player, which shouldn't happen at all. I think that it is wrong for any fans of any clubs to boo their own players, it showed total lack of respect, to the team, manager, club and the player himself. That would be like booing Rafa for picking Kewell to play in the final isn't it? I doubt that'll ever happen in the near future, hopefully never. Please don't prove me wrong.
Players need the 12th man to make them get the "feel" again, and when he gets it back, boy he'll be a joy to watch. We have show what the players get when the fans get behind them, Anfield at the CL semi Final and Istanbul at half time (mind you, I wasn't there, so I don't know, live in Malaysia), imagine what you could do to help him get back to his best form and he play a major role in landing the 19th that we so crave for?
Wouldn't that be nice lads? Let's stop the slagging and get behind him as long as he wears that RED shirt.
