Torres as a backup option? He would have been my first option. What is he? 21? and already captain of his side.

Signing Owen was a good thing but for the amount of money they spent on him, they could have bought a couple of defenders and a striker had they been more tactful in the transfer market.

Exactly, why would they choose Owen over Torres? And if they are willing to spend something like 25 million on one player, a striker at that, when they need a new team... Well that just says what a manager Souness is... 

Oh yeah, can someone pass him a message, a Malaysian player is looking for a new club, top defender, international and will help keep the clean sheet if the bookie is not in contact...

On a more serious note, yes he is mate. The lad is quality and is about to wreck havoc, Real should come knocking anytime now, as soon as Rafa reckons we need (could?) to take Raul off their books...

He wont go to Real. I'd like us to try coz hes said he'd like to play in the PL and he knows alot about us already through his Spanish friends at Liverpool

Have anyone heard anything on how Newcastle funded their transfer (incoming) this summer? There were some discussions here on ESPN Asia that they may have pull them off like Leeds/Ridsdale. Any thoughts?
