Fantastic film.  I recommend The Guard if you haven't seen it.

See I thought the Guard was absolutely fantastic. Didn't think it was anything like In Bruge
Football has reached the ninth gate of farce and pathetic, unbelievable trite nonsense. It's supposed to be a game and it's turned into pantomime, hype, quilts and bellends.

Fantastic film.  I recommend The Guard if you haven't seen it.

Thanks for that. Will definitely do. If Gleeson was as immense(excuse the pun) as in Bruge, I'm in for a treat !

The Guard was a totally stonking film. Brilliant! Probably cost about £10 to make as well.

Just stumbled over a little gem of a film that I'd never even heard of before watching it! Love it when that happens  8)

Hesher http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1403177/

Has JGL and Natalie Portman in it, so no idea how it got by me as I think they are both fantastic!

It's dark, honest, original, intruiging film-making that really draws you in! High recommend! 8/10
Me? The 13th Duke of Wybourne? Here? In a sixth form girl's dormitory? At three o'clock in the morning? With my reputation? What were they thinking of?

Thought it was quite poor myself. One of those films that got really hyped and then when you see it, it's fairly "Meh."

Couldn't really connect with any of the characters. Always struggle when every single character is a dick.

In Bruges is a very sharp and funny film - one of the best modern black comedies.

Just watched this - and it's fucked up.

But 'Love Film' need to sort out some of their summaries, started watching with the wife who doesnt mind a bit of gore.
But this was uncomfortable. Not a chill out film.

Deffo - a mate had told me to see it and wouldn't tell me anything except that it was about a couple of ex-british soldiers, working as hitmen, who get hired for this job that takes them into the realms of the occult.
The Irish one is quite funny, and it does have that gritty and realistic, kitchen sink feel to it. Fucking brutal otherwise.

And for any interested in watching it, don't read up about it in advance - major plot spoilers out there on the web. Best seen with fresh eyes.

Went to see 'Moonrise Kingdom' (*****) and 'Prometheus' (*****) this week. Totally different films, but both visually stunning and both just falling short of being great films, unfortunately.
