The omens for this years Champions League are looking good:

Last time we won the Champions League:

Steven Gerrard put the ball in the net three times in the first game
The top scorer from the previous season was on the bench for the first game, increasing transfer speculation (Owen/Baros)
Steven Gerrard had a last minute change of heart about leaving us to sign for Chelsea
We were around 20/1 with the bookies to win the thing
A much loved, but not massively talented midfielder left (Spud/Igor)

It's our year, I tells yer.
