Hmmm.  Don't know i'd agree, but I still think Rafa will go for more of a 5 man midfield.  Obviously with Stevie pushing forward, but what we have to make sure we don't do is let Lampard (fat fuck) get hold of the game.  If he does, then with Cole and Duff/Robben out wide, it's going to be mighty difficult not to be drawn deep.  I'm starting to worry!!

To be fair, that is the team that got us here, so he should stick with it.

Baros will probably get a hatrick now. He's due a goal. Lets hope and pray it's Tuesday.

If he doesn't score a goal in any of the remaining games, I can see him being sold in the summer.

For me

                   Baros
                  Garcia
Kewell Hamann Gerrard Nunez
      Riise Sami Carra Finnan
                   Dudek

Thought both Nunez and Kewell played well today.
Riise has been superb all season
Baros must start - we wont see the best of Cisse until at least next season.
Hamman or Biscan ?? no contest

Biscan has done well in the Euro games. I actually feel a bit more comfortable with the big Croat in there. Didi has been injured and has hardly played for weeks. It's a big ask for him to step right in and play in a game like this. I'd have no problem playing him alongside Biscan as he can then just do a mopping up job in front of the defence.

I'm sure Baros will start; makes no sense resting him today otherwise.

Is it serious? He might have just been rested to not take any chances.

I'm pretty sure barring injuries it will be:

                                    Dudek

Finnan               Carra             Hyypia                   Traore

Garcia        Biscan        Hamman       Gerrard         Riise

                                     Baros

subs

carson
kewell
warnock
cisse
welsh
nunez
potter

I don't see the point of resting Cisse anymore. We've only got a few games left, and it's all or nothing now. Baros is still badly out of form, and doesn't look like he'll get any better.

I would start with him, and he can always change him for Baros if he gets too tired.

Don't think that he will start Cisse and Baros.

If Biscan is fit he'll play alongside Didi with Gerrard just behind the striker.

I think Riise ahead of Traore and Kewell on the bench.

So ....

Dudek,

Finnan   JC  Sami  Traore
         Biscan Hamann
Garcia    Gerrard     Riise
               Baros

Subs :  Carson, Kewell, Cisse, Nunez, Warnock, + 2 (Welsh, Potter ?)

Comfortable 3-1 victory for the reds.  3-0 up after 70 and takes Carra of to not get booked, so we concede a late goal to a deflected Lampard shot to the delight of the London Press

7 subs. Josemi on the bench  :D

Hopefully
So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

Cannot see Rafa playing two strikers.

The crucial part of the pitch is that we track Lampard, and we don't give Gudjohnson the space that we gave him in the first leg. The return of Hamann could be crucial.

The reason I feel we should play two strikers is because Carvalho is rash, he is not too steady at the moment, and Cisse can exploit that weakness.

Also, Gerrard has to play in midfield because of the absence of Alonso. Hamann is not match-fit and will be too slow to come up against the raiding midfielders who will come at you at pace, like Robben, Duff and Lampard. So I feel Gerrard and Biscan as the midfield will be ideal for this match. It can also allow Gerrard to avoid the shackles of Makelele as he can roam around deeper. Hamann and Biscan will not suffice if we want to win the game. We played 442 when they came to Anfield, and I can see Rafa doing the same.
Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back; a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country.
