Theres a track on Sonic Kicks, Paul Weller's new album, called By The Waters.

A very pretty song - acoustic guitar & string section. Throaty vocals by Paul & it's all a bit Nick Drake if you like that sort of thing.

If you're in the UK you can listen to the new album in it entirety on paulweller.com & it really is not what i expected. A very nice mixture of styles.

Yeah but they're far better live.  Saw them last week in Dublin and three years ago in Brooklyn and they blew me away each time.

Listening to "Denim and Leather" - Saxon

Ahhhh, god, they were fucking terrible weren't they old Saxon. I remember seeing them when they were called Son of a Bitch - basically a Thin Lizzy cover band with their own shit thrown in here and there. Gotta love em for trying but they were pretty poor really.

Anyway, In My Time Of Dying - Zep (on a loop  ;))
