As fucking usual, a let down.

FFS you expect a transisitional season but to me we just seem to have a completely lazy approach to these games. Soton, Birmingham, City...

I hope and pray that during the summer he brings some players in with a hunger for everygame.

We asked for that today, asked for it.

shit shit shit. but I just don't think oour squad is big enough to go from playing a gritty Premiership game at home against Bolton followed by an exhausting 90 minutes against one of then best sides in the world THEN travelling away to a Man City side welcoming a new boss's first game. To have won all three would have been a hell of an achievement. Looking on the bright side we won two, better than none.

Lazy, amateurish - showboating in big games is not enough. They're all big games at this time of year when you've thrown away so many already.

A bit unfair, they showed mentality on Tuesday night.

Fuck that! Good sides show the right mentalty for every game. And it's big players don't go into hiding just cause they don't fancy it. Morientes, Garcia, Gerrard (if someone offers us 30 million, take it quick)

The mentality I am talking about is treating every opposition as the same and the belief that everyone is their for the taking and that you can win every game.

Our away form and general inconsistency says to me that the players just dont have the belief.

Same old story - glory night at Anfield and the belief is there. Prem game against City and its the, "phwoar, do I really want this."

You have to be hungry for every game and they aint.

Shocking to hear us described like that Bob, especially when every game is so crucial right now.
Very disappointing but not wholly surprising- they fancy themselves against 'big' teams at home, do City, and we weren't able to step up.

totally agree with this - at least we won the right two of the three. I know we cant afford to lose any games at this stage, but of the three this was the least damaging. Dissapointed we didnt get a point today, so close.

given that the lads obviously tired during the tues game and we arent in a position to rotate any of the squad it wasnt unforseen. you can only have as much desire as the body allows, and teams are all roll overs in this league. people expecting to win all the remaining games is different to having winable games left.
God bless the skywashed for they know not what they do.

Bradley Wright Phillips and another Academy youngster, Lee Croft created the goal in the 90th minute down the right. (i.e. our Left - Traore for Warnock, cover from Riise?).

Gerrard reported to have missed a good chance in the 81st minute. I think accumalated fatigue may be more of an explanation than a poor attittude.

But neither 'fatigue' or 'attitude' actually say much about the football that was played.

Immensely frustrating but I think we'll still get 4th. If it was anyone other Everton (well not anyone just not like when Leeds were good or Newcastle were good) then I would kiss 4th place bye bye but Everton are playing terrible at the moment and have only won twice since Gravesen left. They must be thanking the man upstairs that they are still 4th after only winning twice in months!!!!!

We'll do it I reckon but they'll only be 1 or 2 points in it. Perhaps it'll even come down to goal difference. They'd be oddly satisifying, beating them on goal difference!
