Good game, good result and we outplayed them in the 1st Half.
2nd Half, their class showed and they upped their tempo to meet ours.
Bad mistake by the young Carson but he made a cracking save in the 1st.

Anyone of us would have taken 2-1 before kick-off. Remember they still have to score at their ground!

Whatever happens now we have done well. Let's not forget this was Juve, one of the best team in the world.
I honestly think we can go there and score.
2-0 would have been so much better. I honestly thought we were gonna turn them over at one point but can't say I'm unhappy.

We outplayed them for 45 or so, and look capable of matching them!

Clean sheet over there, or nick one, and we'll be fine. Still confident we can do it!

Can't fault them too much from that. Juve were always going to improve that second half and we did well to hold them off from scoring more. And they only scored from a mistake. But we have the lead so they must score to go through.

A shame about the mistake, but it was still a great performance, and a great result. The away goal probably means Juve will go through, but we can still score over there.

Bit gutted but they did have one disallowed so maybe that evened it up. I feel the ref was giving them to much in the 2nd half.

Well done to the lads, they worked their socks off.

Brilliant. love all of them. That first half display was the best I've seen in a long, long time. Juve were rattled, perplexed, they didn't have a clue what was going on. We were always going to tire, and the goal was unfortunate, but forget that. I'm so fucking proud of them.

During the first half they were out of this world. The speed, the passing everything worked smoothly. Perfect. In the second half we lost the flow and nothing worked any more. I could understand if they were tired after that first half, but in the second half Juve was the better team. Their goal was due to a Carson mistake though. I'm still really proud of them and we proved Buffon is beatable. We will just have to repeat the first half performance next week.

Feel more gutted than I did than against Leverkusen. 2-0 up and a fucking soft goal again. How many times are we going to let the other team back into the game?

Still there's nothing I've seen tonight from Juve that worries me if we play like we did tonight.

So so proud of the lads. These injurys are killing us though the players looked absolutely fucked and we dont have enough to rotate. Carson should of saved it granted but it wasnt that bad an error imo. What are you told as a youngster? "Head the ball down as it's harder for the keeper to deal with"

Thought Le Tellac was great tonight. Great touch and vision. Thought Carra and Finnan did a great job as well. They were all over us in the 2nd half but didn't manage many shots.

Hmm, great performance if somewhat reserved in the second half. Carson, well what can I say other than you aint the first.

Believe we can get one from them over there. Thought we could tonight to be honest and was bemused when Milan came off.

But, it feels great to have beaten a calibre team such as Juventus.

Great result. All excellent and Nunez impressed again from the bench. Garcia was excellent and Le Tallec had a very good game. Things are gettin better.

Xabi back for the second leg. Igor and Gerrard were magnificent in the first half and I can see Igor keeping his place, with Xabi, in the middle and move Stevie further forward.

Thought Le tallec had a cracking game too.

Before the game I would have agreed, but if we play like we played here in the first half I'm sure we can score there. Besides, we don't need to score, if we keep a clean sheet

We're getting better as a team, a few more additions and injured players returning will make us far stronger and more consistant.

Juve players in the 2nd half showed they understand each others game and the manager ideas, they are a class team but we took them apart in the 1st half.

I think we can do it, I think we will.

i was a bit gutted at conceding but the more i think now i was dreading this matchand thought we'd get beat so i am happy now and le tallecs my favourite player so i'm glad he played can't really think of a man of the match though i'll be biased and say le tallec

juve had only let in 2 goals in the CL before they met us
sami's goal was well taken and garcia's was just brilliant .. the whole buildup to that goal was just perfect
a lil gutted about conceeding but carson is young and will make mistakes, also he did have a great save in the first half
2 - 1 win .. yeah ill take dat
a win's a win and we got it no complaints

pretty confident we can score over there and plus we'll have xabi back =)

A few observations from this game:

1. The positional sense of Carson belies his age. This kid is only 19, but seeing him taking his position in goals was like watching David Seaman at his peak.
2. Thuram has still got it and is still one of the best in the world.
3. Luis Garcia is the best flair player at Liverpool since Robbie Fowler - and more is to come.
4. Traore may still come good.
5. Gerrard is getting back to form.
6. Baros can run ragged the best defense in the world.

Really poor 2nd half from this. It's harsh but tiredness isn't an excuse. It's not hard to at least TRY to keep the ball and pass it about a bit. Instead we were just giving it back to them (making our front players even more tired, chasing the ball) and then we were getting worn out with wave after wave of attack. We have to attack them in Turin. A goal means they need at least two... (and the only goal they got tonight was a lucky one, yes they had one disallowed but Carson stopped to be fair..)

That much is true -- They did take one from JUV on an offside that wasn't. However, the whistle came very early in the move, which might have had Carson charging to punch instead of waiting for the result of the whistle.

No thought Milan, had tried his hardest but at that stage he was knackered and we needed to retain the ball a bit better, not Milans strong point and In fairness we did this better when he had gone off.
