Wake up, will ya pal? If you're not inside, you're outside, OK? And I'm not talking a $400,000 a year working Wall Street stiff flying first class and being comfortable, I'm talking about liquid. Because he's injured like numerous people have said.

Hm, I guess Dudek is in too much pain to start, otherwise, why would Rafa have praised his attitude. Hard game for Carson to have his debut. This is going to be a really tough game for us.

Interesting looking team, isn't it? Shame about Moro, but Baros will be fresh, as will others.

Kewell saved for Weds?

Thank god bellamy has left...

his pace would have tore hyypia n pellegrino to shreds.

He would have put pace in the defence in that case. As it is, we maybe need more strength in the air today.

From official site

Scott Carson will make his senior Liverpool debut at Newcastle this afternoon as Rafael Benitez makes five team changes.
Carson, who only joined the club from Leeds in January, replaces Jerzy Dudek, who drops to the bench.
Fernando Morientes (groin), Didi Hamann (shin), Harry Kewell (ankle) and Djimi Traore (thigh) all miss out through injury, and are replaced by Milan Baros, Igor Biscan, Vladimir Smicer and Mauricio Pellegrino.

Team in full: Carson, Finnan, Riise, Carragher, Hyypia, Pellegrino, Biscan, Gerrard, Smicer, Garcia, Baros. Subs - Dudek, Warnock, Welsh, Nunez, Le Tallec.

It won't be that formation - if it is, I'll be shocked. It'll be four at the back.

I know 5 changes are enough, but I can't help thinking that maybe Welsh could play better with Stevie as Biscan seems to freeze next to him. Well, we will have to see a real team effort out there today and the most important job for the travelling supporters.

This is a massive game for a line up that's never played together before. Dudek dropped or not fully fit ? Come on reds, this is going to be one tall order to get something out of todays game.

The likes of Baros, Smicer and Garcia better get their act together, they could all consider themselves lucky to be starting today I reckon, so it's payback time boys. I'd settle for a point at the moment, but with Liverpool this season you don't know what to expect . Good luck to Carson in his debut .

As long as they do all try their hardest i'll be happy. Brum away and Soton away was hard to take but at least if they try it's a bit easier to accept defeat.

just hope carson has a good first 20 mins to settle the nerves that he will obviously have, i believe today is the perfect oppurtunity for us to bounce back from last week and show everyone we're not gonna give up forth place easily. i thgink we could just scrape through this one if we can either score early or not let them score in the first half an hour, there is a lot of responsibility on smicer and garcia to not only support baros but help out in midfield when needed. also i have every faith in scott carson but i just hope that if he does have a good game that everyone doesn't build him up as the next dino zoff  :wave
